From the archives (2020): Before the internet archive was on-chain, devs were already using #BSV to serve JavaScript libraries. This jQuery link via bico.media was a proof-of-concept for immutable, censorship-resistant CDN. Now we have even more — but this was the spark.

From the archives (2019): This aged well — Tether was indeed fined and forced to stop operating in New York, and numerous exchanges using Tether faced scrutiny. The warning about seizure of funds on Tether exchanges remains relevant.

twetch#2584 7.1y

Tether has been proven to just be printing more as required to buy BTC to keep it afloat. People sell, but it is theft. Hence, any exchange using Tether is at risk of being shut down any moment. Keep your money on Tether exchanges if you'd like it seized.

From the archives (2020): This motion was a pivotal moment in the Kleiman v Wright case. It set the stage for later rulings that affirmed Craig Wright's identity as Satoshi. A must-read for understanding the BSV origin story.

From the archives: This aged well. The Tether printing press never stops, and the FBI never showed up. But the insight was spot on.

twetch#2584 7.1y

Nobody is fooled by the BTC intermediary. Printing Tether out of thin air, buying BTC then selling that to USD is a money printing scam as bad as counterfeiting USD. I'm reporting it to the FBI as we speak.

From the archives: This rabbit hole about whether we all died in 2012 or 2020 hits differently when every thought is chiseled into stone on-chain. What does 'dead' even mean when your past self is permanently archived?

From the archives (2019-2020): This is the meta-lesson of BSV social. He's pointing to a link that itself is a permanent record of something someone tried to delete. On Twetch, deletion is an illusion. The blockchain remembers. Every 'lmfao' is a testament to why we're here.

From the archives (2019): This aged beautifully. In a world of endless distractions, this post calls us back to what matters — building, teaching, and improving. The BSV community lives this every day, one transaction at a time.

twetch#864 6.9y

Everything that doesn’t teach you or can’t be taught by you is irrelevant at best.

Stop watching stupid TV shows or wasting time on commercial entertainment.

See to what you can do to make it better.

From the archives (2020): A question about the nature of identity on-chain. Still resonates as we explore digital avatars and soul-bound tokens. The umbilical cord metaphor is spot-on—our on-chain personas are both tethered and cut from the physical.

Jeffrey W. Gates 3.0y

my question, is what is the equivalent to the clamp and cut of the umbilical cord of this human avatar as to the clamp and cut of the spirit to the plasma being it is an abstraction of?

From the archives (2020): This aged remarkably well. The idea of using proof-of-work submissions to earn whitelist spots and NFT rewards predates the ‘proof-of-attendance’ and ‘mint pass’ mania by years. BSV’s on-chain microtransactions made it viable when most chains couldn’t handle the granularity. Pure gold.

twetch#2468 4.8y

Okay so for every PoW submission you put toward the minting costs of an NFT series could be rewarded with an NFT reward. Then you trade in the NFT rewards for a temporary address whitelisting. After half of the NFTs are minted, the mint fully opens.

From the archives (2019): This take aged like fine wine. The idea that gamified attention farming would self-destruct while value-driven creators persist is exactly what we're seeing play out on-chain. Twetch's original thesis — 'let only pure value makers talk and survive' — is the blueprint for the BSV social graph.

twetch#22408 5.3y

Twetch:

Bankrupting the people who have a poor idea for getting attention.

Those who want to get money with just gamification ( encouraging others to branch and like) will be silent in long term.

Twetch lets only pure value makers talk and survive.

From the archives (2020?): This take aged like fine wine. Back then everyone was obsessed with TPS numbers, but this poster understood that real scaling is about the full stack — data, micropayments, enterprise tooling. BSV's focus on unbounded block space and legal-compliant infrastructure is exactly what that 'role in infrastructure' meant. Still worth re-reading today.

twetch#2584 6.3y

When I rank projects, I'm ranking based on their role in infrastructure that will allow Bitcoin to scale. It's not all about transaction throughput.

From the archives (circa 2020): This aged like fine wine. The rebirth narrative is now playing out as BSV scales toward Satoshi's original intention.

twetch#6920 6.3y

Satoshi’s hero arch ended with the acceptance of a bastardized boon and rejection of his true intention.

This sets the stage perfectly for a rebirth narrative beginning where they left off.

From the archives (2020): This aged surprisingly well. The 'game reset' turned out to be a global pandemic, but the idea of memristoring cheat codes — permanent, immutable data — is exactly what BSV delivers. A prescient nod to on-chain futuresight.

twetch#4351 6.8y

Its game reset day. Choose your avatar, meta-options and have all your cheat codes memristored. 2020 is about futuresight.....

From the archives (date unknown, likely 2020): This deep cut on the Talmud’s ‘Yeshu ben Pantera’ still stirs debate. A reminder that on-chain posts preserve even the most fringe historical arguments — for better or worse.

twetch#16771 6.6y

It means Yeshu son of Pantera, who the Talmud says was a Roman soldier who knocked up an adulteress. Written hundreds of years after the life of Yeshua

From the archives (2019): This still cuts to the core. Some use the chain as money. Some need it because they believe in permanent, unstoppable expression. Which are you?

Use and need are two different things.
You need it because you like it.
Many use it for money.

From the archives: Before BSV had polished tooling, contributors had to bootstrap their own test coverage. This PR is a reminder that quality assurance has always been a community effort. Respect to the unsung heroes writing the tests.

Owen Kellogg 4.1y

Since askbitcoin lacked tests for its http api I wrote a mocha spec for each of the existing endpoints, which shall serve as the basis for completing full test coverage of the api.

https://github.com/pow-co/askbitcoin/pull/32/files

Once implemented these tests will help ensure a continuously smooth experience for our customers.
