If you used a string to pull the plane forward the belt would no longer match the tire speed, and the tires would shred instantly
But the belt is spinning backwards
But the plane is still sitting on the ground. It has to roll forward.
It can’t roll forward if the ground is moving backwards at the same speed the tires are rolling.
Any thrust produced propels the plane forward, which is instantly counteracted by the conveyor belt.
