if the belt is moving backward at the same speed the plane is moving forward, I agree that wheel speed doubles and the plane takes off
the point I'm making is strictly related to the assuming that the belt speed matches the wheel speed
remember, my initial foray here was to call it "schrodiinger's conveyor belt" thatbis both moving and not moving at the same time and to share a sawtooth wave graph to deacribe the plane's forward motion on such a belt

for the plane to move forward the wheel speed has to exceed the belt speed - or alternatively, lose traction
the conveyor belt in the video matches the plane's forward motion speed, which is a completely different metric than the wheel speed
as they noted, "the wheels simply turned twice as fast"
Even if the belt moved at double the speed of the wheels you'd have lift off.

If the conveyor belt matches the speed of the wheels no amount of thrust moves the plane.
