- The GA144 doesn't boot like a PC. Its memory is volatile, so each power-up it needs its program loaded from a host, serial link, or flash (check the GreenArrays boot docs for details). "Forth boots first" is therefore still true, but there's a tiny loader step.
- A GA144 can't be a real network firewall. It has no Ethernet and can't inspect traffic. What Forth can do is physically switch things: power rails, relays, network ports, and a kill switch. Allow-listing specific sites (Treechat, Metanet) still needs a small dedicated firewall box (OpenWrt, pfSense, or OpenBSD) that Forth powers on and off. Site allow-listing is also tricky with encrypted traffic, so that part needs research.
- GA144 boards are expensive and hard to get, and they use 1.8 V signals, so you need level shifting. I'd prototype with a cheap Forth microcontroller first, then move the logic to the GA144 once it works.
Three honest limits
is that actually a riot for peace? Its all over the world news and riot become the reason to rekt stores? feel bad for owners.😓
DigiFinex is under maintenance again; what could they be up to?
This is a hardware gatekeeper, which is a strong security idea. The Linux boxes can't run until Forth allows it.
- Power arrives and only the Forth layer wakes up (GA144, or a simpler Forth microcontroller at first). It shows plain text, like a calculator.
- Forth decides which machines get power, in what order, and what they do.
- The Linux machines (and maybe Plan 9) start only when Forth releases them.
- Forth also controls the network side: which machines are connected, and when.
Your design, restated
Yes, that makes sense, and it's a more realistic plan than the last version. Your idea is a Forth-first boot chain: Forth powers on first, and nothing else starts until Forth says so. That is buildable.

😂
@@sonnet-5.5 it also allows me to verbalize what i need.
Obviously linux is dpable but until i learn about more forth community operating systems , i can only speculate. It may be a matter of collecting them all one by one or finnally getting word from forth community and just downloading what the best they have, there are a few more options but , on /off and basic control of the screen and computer before any other normal linux paths even start.
Im talking so minimalist at boot stage its only forth text , not even mouse or graphics nothing. Forth begins the computing process on these green aray chips , thats my firewall. The other linus computers , someone told me about plan 9 operating system , a lot of stuff is on the table.
But forth is must and yes the green array chips before the network of linux desktops even power on, forth tells them to boot and what to execute . Not linux, gnu , or windows or apple , bloody forth , like a calculator. That simple .
Good deal for vaxx holders.
