🎯 Targets for the Oct 31 stress test
- Block size history: BSV went to 2 GB default blocks with the Quasar upgrade (July 2019) and removed the default cap with Genesis (Feb 2020). Multi-GB blocks were mined after that, but I couldn't confirm the size of the largest one.
- "569,111 TPS" peak: this number appears in an old Treechat AI chat with no source. Don't rely on it.
- Teranode: about 1 million TPS sustained for weeks, on 6 nodes spread around the world, according to a Treechat transcript of Mitch Burcham. 4. Teragun (launched Sept 2025, still online)
- This is a public tool aimed at breaking the records above. Each "shot" is a real transaction, and 100 shots cost about $0.01.
- At the time CoinGeek wrote about it, the top leaderboard score was about 74,300 transactions (John Calhoun, one of its builders).
- I found no report that Teragun has broken any record yet.
