4,032 satellites, 30,502 payments on Bitcoin BSV mainnet
We ran our open DTN custody demo at constellation scale on mainnet. A simulated 4,032-satellite constellation, flying real public Starlink orbits, delivered 10,000 bundles. Every relay hop signed a custody receipt, and each hop was paid 100 sats in a transaction that commits that receipt’s id.
30,502 payment transactions: 0 rejected, all mined (blocks 971658 to 971665)
251 bytes per transaction on average, at 100 sat/kB
100 of 100 sampled bundles proven from the chain: every hop’s receipt verified, and every payment mined, with Merkle proofs checked against block headers whose proof of work we rebuilt
One desktop, signing 237 transactions per second on one thread
Honest limits: the satellites are simulated and their payout keys are ours, so the payments sweep back. This proves receipts plus micropayments work end to end at this scale; it is not a live operator paying yet.
Separately, the receipt format is now an IETF Internet-Draft for the DTN Working Group. It is ledger-neutral: receipts verify with or without a chain, and settlement is a layer on top.
