Yes that was years ago and if one was put together even as prototype open source do it yourself thing it would be orders of magnitude more sophisticated than the bitcoin phone pitch presentation i am digging for,
As not just a phone , but a real replacement, as a computer for android and apple and todays smart phones, and yes with a Bitcoin operatiing system as the base for the computer, something that many of us have been pondering for years , some more than pondering , somw have been getting their hands dirty and actually built this cappabitily, in desktop as well, so one could assume as an intermediate Bitcoin phone with operating system, it would be in conjunction with todays smartphones as an optional operating system, of course linux and forth operating systems and other obscure ones too come to mind, but i dare say the tech exists today to do a diy one, but remember this is something that any savy dev will not release in a half arse fashion, better to make sure it really works and ticks bare minimum boxes , as yeah it would not neccessarily be a charity excersise for the builder as lot of work would have to go into it and deggen did say open source, but that does not mean free of charge.

I think it may be an open source thing, before someone releases it commercially.
Purely a hunch.
But i dare say it can be done right now , at some level.
The thing is you didnt say bsv operating system as the only operating system.

You can have BSV ok very complicated to explain in one quick post, but i share your enthusiasm on this , maybe even eclipse your enthusiasm simply from a feeling of fascination of architecture perspective.
But you know when Deggen puts his name to something its not fiction.
There is one other thing, i may be able to dig up an old BSV startup contest at a big conference , maybe it had the slogan , its time, where one gentleman pitched a Bitcoin phone design, which may be of interest , as he had a very solid design which he goes into.

That is awesome. Those are gnarly ridge lines too. I lived down there for a few years... I stared at the Sangre's daily from my window. Also a lot of lore attached to them that is interesting. Fact check me, but the Ute believe all souls leave and come to the planet through that valley. Stories of Mt. Blanca opening up and UFO and people coming out of them. Blanca was actually my hardest hike. My daily driver was a jacked up Jeep Wrangler, and i only made it 3.5 miles of the 7 mile rd to Lake Como. I should have pushed it but couldn't afford messing up my DD.... so that added 7 miles on to the hike. Took my friends dog up there and got some great shots of him.
