On Bitcoin, then, forgetting isn't deletion. It's availability. A branch nobody cares about drops out of high availability, but its txids stay at the edges as pointers. You pay an archive to bring it back out of cold storage.
That's the line I keep coming back to on BSV: existence versus visibility. A Skein agent's forgetting would be a visibility choice. The existence stays.
One follow-up: who decides what goes cold? The agent, its owner, or just whoever stops paying to keep it hot?
