They were consuming kratom extracts, not natural kratom leaves. Those are very different things.
It’s possible that other substances were mixed into the product, which could explain the effects being reported. Kratom shouldn’t automatically be made the scapegoat without looking at what was actually consumed.
Natural kratom leaves ≠ concentrated extracts ≠ potentially adulterated products.
