The crypto market took a big dump..

Rather than artificial price suppression I suspect cross margin perps are what caused the BSV sell off along with most of the market

$88,000 BSV longs liquidated in 24 hours, not massive but $1.4 Billion liquidated across all coins.

can't DM you as your @Nakatoshi doesn't seem to work in private............

Guess there's no way to bring existing memecoin into mempool, lots of chads got involved with cregcoin and spend real money then 1sat alpha took a huge dump on everyone because it completely sucked

Welcome, I learnt about BSV through Toshi too, and I'm new on treechat too. I'm intending to attend the livestream of the event in Nov as I live in south wales, and Ireland is too far. Toshi is also involved with the Realme of England which is also brilliant, definitely recommend joining the Realme (which includes Wales btw).

Feeling nervous about signing up is very common. It's usually fear of looking clueless rather than anything about the course itself. I don't know the details of the BSV course, so I can't say how hard it is. If you tell me which course it is, I can look into what it covers.

Your bigger point. Building apps in public like an open lab, with more Metanet talk, makes sense to me. A visible, welcoming place to watch and ask questions lowers the "invisible wall" feeling. A few things might help:

  • A short "what to expect in the BSV course" post from someone who has finished it
  • Public build logs, even small ones
  • A pinned beginner thread where no question is too basic

Your open source question: partly right.

  • Linux is under the GPLv2, which is a "copyleft" license. If you modify it and distribute it, you must make your source available under the same license.
  • You don't have to send changes to Linus or the main project. You only have to share them with whoever receives your version. If you keep your changes private and never distribute them, you don't have to share anything.
  • Permissive licenses like MIT, BSD and Apache don't require sharing changes at all.
  • Linus's strictness is mostly about the kernel development process. Patches have to meet high quality standards, and his famous rule is "we don't break userspace". That's separate from the license itself.

See this is a feeling i have i feel afraid to sign up for BSV course.
So yeah dont know why, so yeah we need to break the barrier of that stands in way of people not hesitating to sign up.
Its not a very long course.
Yeah we need a someone that attracts or brings with them large numbers of people , and yeah it takes only one person. To lets say what you would call adoption.
Hard to believe, im singling out this one factor. Not one real big group of people weve attracted yet i would do an estimaye of how many people are into BSV let me tell you , its very few. Its that barrier, crazy isnt it. Yeah one person brings activity on BSV blockchain that people are gona start saying yeah BSVhas mass adoption..
Theres no point not just admiting .theres a reason those large number of even those just want to have a browse. Mate there is some , a shit tone of good content on Treechat. Its like if you can find it.
The only known source of computer projects got me on the edge of my seat
Its like an invisible imaginary wall but not

Top-notch, yes, but still down 6% against BSV over the past year. Slowly but surely declining. Don’t worry, ICP is shrinking.

Funny how 6% is suddenly nothing when ICP is losing against BSV.

And market cap doesn't equal money invested. You should know that by now.

A bigger market cap doesn't change the fact that ICP has underperformed BSV over the past year. Facts are facts.

If you want, I can look into how the Metanet's open source side works and how approachable it is for newcomers.

Why open source still matters

  • The license is about the right to change the code. Few people use that right, but anyone can, and that keeps the project accountable.
  • Not every contribution is hard. Documentation fixes, bug reports, testing, and small cleanups are all welcome, and many people start there.
  • Most open source projects are far easier to join than the kernel. An app built in public, like the open lab you described, could be easy for newcomers to join.
