Release today: Telegram has just made Web3 and crypto history by officially launching the largest technological rollout ever seen: the native integration of a non-custodial (self-managed) crypto wallet, directly accessible to its one billion users.
Announced by Pavel Durov, this historic milestone is accompanied by a complete overhaul and a major split of its financial services:

• The new Gram Wallet: Fully native and non-custodial, it is integrated directly into Telegram’s interface and settings. It is designed to democratize crypto on a global scale, offering instant, fee-free (zero-commission) transactions for everyday purchases, payments, and transfers.
• The birth of Walt: The former internal tool @wallet is spinning off to become Walt. This is a far more advanced Web3 platform dedicated to multi-chain trading, investment, and asset management, featuring AI capabilities and upcoming crypto bank cards.

Why is this a historic first?
Never before has a mass-market platform with one billion active users transformed its app into such a direct Web3 gateway. While ecosystems like Notcoin and "Tap-to-Earn" games on the TON blockchain had already attracted tens of millions of people, this update permanently eliminates technical friction—such as complex key generation, browser extensions, and gas fees. Telegram is bringing crypto to where the general public already is: inside a messaging app.
