listening to Stefan Matthews on the stand in Norway GranathVsSatoshi
being cross examined
"you said you received a copy of the white paper in 2009.. in August... two iterations prior to the release of the white paper? Do you have a copy?"
"I haveno idea where the paper went... I left that company, my laptop was replaced... you don't know the number of times that I wished that I would have kept that USB stick that I had... at the time I didn't know I would require it in the future."
"you're still quite sure both of the date and what you see?"
"I'm certain"
"was there any other communications between DrWright and you - email correspondence? SMS?"
"no"
"did you communicate with anyone else regarding this white paper?"
"not at the time... I've discussed it ad nauseum with people since".
"you said you were offered 50K Bitcoin..."
"early 2009... I've been around the impression it was the easter period.."
"regarding the summary of the agreed terms 2015... you said first priority was to get money to pay lawyers... did you become aware of the lawyers who withdrew?"
"there was a lot of meetings on a daily basis.. the lawyers, I had off the record conversations.. in a very difficult position.... ATO was a major client"
"in the contract of agreed terms... how much time did you use to negotiate the summary?"
"mcgregor was with me in Sydney somewhere between a week - 10days, a weekend... 70% was around doing due diligence, trying to understand what the companies in Australia had been doing, what value... how that value might be moved into new business enterprises... the tipping point for mcgregor was.. a store room... file room in Morgan office it had leverarch files 2.5-4inch around all the walls 2-300 files that represented the catalogue of research work accrued by OzIndustry... somehow mcgregor 'have a look at this document.. .the dates'... there were files/notes from 2006 describing aspects of blockchain and the technology that we're talking about today... mcgregor was an IP lawyer..."
"it's taking too long, how long did the agreement take?"
"one day...
"how did you come up with 1.5mill for IP?"
"we took an overall value of what we were prepared to put into a deal $15mill and broke it down into its component parts... we split the purchase price up within the various entities of the group"
"did you know how much the company paid for this IP?"
"I know what had been invested in research programs"
"DeMorgan group, those two software components were part of the assets.. doesn't mean that us an investor or acquirer would value those based on the purchase price... neither of those two pieces of software have been used by nChain"
"has any other IP been used?"
"some, very little". $osg
