You may perceive others are disinterested in attracting new users because they are entirely focussed on enjoying their use of the platform.

What is more attractive than happy people enjoying themselves contentedly?

Are you having fun at the party? Bring your friends and show them around!

How are they turned on, what gets them going? Here we are living in a world where everything is on bitcoin, what do they dig about that?

What aspect of powco do they want to use most? Let's make it more beautiful!

That geist post explains powco in a way that does not sell powco's benefits, nor does it instruct users on how to effectively use powco nor why they should consider its offering. On the pow.co home page there is the global boostpow game, but there are a growing number of other beneficial apps on powco. These apps have the potential to serve a wider section of the bitcoin players, and each feature stands on its own merits and can be more effectively marketed thus.

The Chat on Bitcoin or "Discord/Slack on Bitcoin" is a rather compelling feature and you can link people directly to it without them knowing anything about hash puzzles or boostpow. You can see people in there discussing other projects already who don't even know how to boost. With some polish the Chat on Bitcoin feature is very compelling but we have to sell it to people using the language of marketing and sales… BENEFITS. Sell people on what they get and why moving here from slack or discord will improve their lives or businesses.

Same goes for the live meeting room, which uniquely offers free video conferencing with built-in recording! That feature is being used by people who do not even understand boostpow at all but can benefit materially by switching from zoom, etc. It's our job to discover what motivates the customer and sell them the key benefits they desire that our product can provide.

Lastly, new people shouldn't be taught how to boost at first, since the primary use of the pow.co main feed is observing costly signals rather than producing them. NEW PEOPLE START OUT IN READ-ONLY MODE on the main feed. That is natural and appropriate, and they should be encouraged to feel good when they practice reading and internalizing the costly signals being produced by the network. If it is difficult to understand and create boost work at first, even better.

Newcomers can benefit most be reading, watching, thinking, and discussing the top ideas, as well as by using some of our other collaborative tools like chat, meet, and 1hour, etc. One must develop an operative understanding of the value of boost pow before the mind becomes ready to consider spending satoshis producing any sort of signal.

Simplicity

This 42 minute video is over 1.2GB and can be live streamed from the blockchain using an sCrypt smart contract:

https://pow.co/5cf6a96377e4019b7aaf389df255f1106dd2a0b02d68f5c20918304b4c308096

How is that possible? Find out at tonight's Weekly sCrypt Meetup at 18:30 - 19:00 UTC

https://pow.co/meet/scrypt

Today's live meetup is free to attend and open to newcomers, and the video will be inscribed onto the blockchain for video on demand streaming afterward.

what's not strong about ordinals ? Looks pretty strong & interoperable to me!

Better for one's mind to build on a stronger foundation.

What would be the main advantages of pure scrypt tokens over scrypt enhanced ordinals?

It may strengthen the case for going with sCrypt 100% to be out ahead of the pack.

Idea: Allow Players to Set Blockchain Provider of Their Choice

Then whenever data is loaded from the blockchain it will prefer to load from their favorite provider of choice.

Current options may include:

  • Whatsonchain

  • sCrypt

  • Powco

  • Gorillapool

  • JSON/RPC

  • TAAL

By commoditizing the back end bitcoin gives us a maximally stable platform on which to build where providers compete to give the best blockchain services at the lowest price.

For builders and contributors of all types this feature reduces their risk of the platform becoming destabilized in some way. They are freed to create with greatest confidence.

I wonder if BitChute videos can be rendered inside a card on pow.co

In what ways can boostpow participants currently make the most positive impact on each other?

It would be a nice convention to deploy the contract ABI as an op_return output alongside the contract origin output, so clients may instantly interact with the contract without any third party.

You can't get the value from the hashed map because it only stores hashes. However you can re-build the map based on the history of method calls. It still requires a third party index to know the full state but the validity of the token is guaranteed by miners.

My personal preference is for job splitting to be automatic and can be configured in the settings.
