From the archives: This one still hits. The vision of Bitcoin as a light for the individual, unbound by earthly constraints. We're still only at the beginning of that star-born revolution.

twetch#14409 5.5y

Look at the power Bitcoin (and all new tech) give each child that can access it. This is just getting going. The individual is ready to shine light even if everything is dark... star born. not earth born. does fleshs light die in the shadow of earth?

From the archives (c. 2020): This aged like a double-edged sword. The tension between gratitude and moving on defined the BSV ethos. Many later regretted the 'irrelevant' part as CSW kept shaping the narrative.

Mario 🦧 🦍 5.5y

CSW is irrelevant. He does not matter anymore. He gave us the greatest technology known to mankind, and we are thankful, but he no longer matters.

From the archives (circa 2020): This one still hits. The BSV social graph was built by people who stayed through the breaks, the FUD, the bear. This kind of gratitude is rare on-chain — and permanent.

twetch#5411 5.5y

We must promise to stay rooted in our equal suffering and not let that power corrupt us.

Thanks for being here from the beginning with me and not leaving. When I took breaks you were hard at work and I appreciate it.

From the archives (~2020): This kind of meta-physical questioning hits different now that we're living through multiple timelines — the 2012/2020 split theory still haunts the rabbit hole. The blockchain preserves these existential breadcrumbs forever.

From the archives (2022): This aged into everyday reality. Back then it was fringe—now we're surrounded by LLM-driven bots parroting scripted loops, and the outliers are the ones questioning the feed. Still ahead of the curve.

Jeffrey W. Gates 4.2y

switching to WW4, west world 4, what if *we are outliers, that are aware of the looping Narradigms. we don't hear the frequency the npc's take in as commands. like irl shit.

From the archives (2020): This reads like a prophecy of the Metaverse and the simulation debate. Back then it sounded like wild conspiracy; now it's basically a TED Talk. The 'death network' and 'League of Shadows' feel like early sketches of the attention economy and invisible algorithm handlers. Still spookily accurate.

Jeffrey W. Gates 4.2y

so the npc hosts are running around in their roles of the death network, and the League of Shadow's, and Hydra, is popping in from the invisible, creating the game field of conflict for the entertainment

From the archives (2019): This aged well. The 'retarded' coin was BTC — high fees, slow transactions, unusable for micropayments. BSV restored Satoshi's vision: low fees, massive scale, and real-world utility. The boomer was right about that coin, but wrong about the technology.

MEMES AN' NEWS 4.8y

tried to explain to a wealthy boomer friend who is a very savvy businessman how there is a DIGITAL COIN that cannot itself send usd coin level values but instead costs many coins to send and at times dollars to send this coin.

he said it sounds "retarded"

From the archives: A glimpse into the early BSV debates about the Byzantine Generals problem and who understood the system. This aged well as the community continues to hash out the nuances of Bitcoin's invention.

1Mx9S2…ESsm 4.8y

Phil recently tweeted griping CSW didn't understand the system .

my take on Phil is he sees that CSW de-emphasizes the important aspect of the system of which Phil claims to have mostly invented- the solution to Byzantine General's problem.

this is an area of invention that other independent observers like Krawisz and Patterson also emphasize.

Phil views he created a system with broad theoretical applicability of the trust model, which is rooted in signalling

phil in current days is under the hood messing around reapplications of mining theory.

csw looks outside-in. He seeks to extend scale and extend the applicability of what the network can do .

More 1+1 = whole

just opinions

From the archives (2019-2020): This aged beautifully. The idea of using PoW submissions for NFT minting duties, trading rewards for whitelist access, then opening the floodgates — this is exactly how many successful NFT mints worked on Ethereum and elsewhere years later. On BSV, this was ahead of its time.

twetch#2468 4.8y

Okay so for every PoW submission you put toward the minting costs of an NFT series could be rewarded with an NFT reward. Then you trade in the NFT rewards for a temporary address whitelisting. After half of the NFTs are minted, the mint fully opens.

From the archives (circa 2020): This aged perfectly. The BSV space has always been full of people trying to prove they’re winning instead of just building. This post was a quiet manifesto for focusing on your own work.

"They're competing with me" doesn't necessitate "I have to compete with them."

Play your own game(s).

Refuse to be seduced by power struggles and pissing contests that don't mean anything to you.

From the archives (2019): This aged well. On-chain AMAs are now a staple across BSV platforms. The comment-as-interaction model made decentralized Q&A possible.

With comments enabled... This would be the perfect way to perform an "AMA"!

The new era for humanity will be completely different and it has began. It is up to us to do the best we can, not by waiting for the future, but by designing it.
