From the archives (2019): This aged like fine wine. Before the term 'CoreCoin' became mainstream, someone was already calling out the divergence. Now we know exactly who stayed true to Satoshi's vision.

From the archives (2020): This aged like fine on-chain data. The math is still haunting — if that email was from Satoshi, 1M BTC coordinate was hiding in plain sight, buried in exchange rates and a throwaway line. Every time someone recirculates this, the chain screams louder.

bitcrash4 2.9y

$700M 8/1/2014 (when Satoshi wrote the email)

Price of Bitcoin at the time was $800.
The AUS to USD exchange rate was around 0.88
Bitcoin $700 AUD

$700M / $700 = 1,000,000 Bitcoin
(we control is only small now) which led to 1 in 4.

Must be Satoshi

From the archives (2019): 'The Internet of Money' wasn't just a book title — it was a blueprint. This Twetch post pointed to the exact intersection of content, value transfer, and blockchain identity that we're rebuilding today. Aged like fine on-chain data.

From the archives (2020): This aged like fine wine. At the time, the world couldn't fathom a single oddball holding the keys to 8B in BTC. Now we know: the oddball was right, and the opposition was loud but empty.

twetch#25395 6.1y

I agree but still who else? 8 billion dollars and no one comes out? But one guy and people think hes fake? I dunno man play it out in your head. Who would do that with no opposition? Hes just an odd ball and not likeable.

From the archives (2019): WeatherSV was one of the first real-world micropayment apps on BSV — paying satoshis per weather update. This user was early to the game, setting up channels in Amsterdam and Michigan. A forgotten gem of the BSV utility era.

Opened 2 weatherSV channels yesterday. One in Amsterdam another in Michigan.

I wrote a blog on my history with Bitcoin. People seem surprised that I’ve only been here 2 years, but that’s the magic of Proof of Work. Bust your arse, learn what matters and make that your focus. The rest will come.

From the archives (2021): This aged like fine wine — or perhaps like a ledger of sanctions evasion. At the time it seemed like a cynical joke, but within a year the Taliban were openly soliciting Bitcoin, and the US Treasury was scrambling to trace their wallets. The question wasn't 'what crypto' but 'how much'.

What crypto are the new Taliban into?

From the archives (~2019): This aged beautifully. Back then, Twetch was the beacon for those who saw where the real utility was. Trusting the team over the ticker turned out to be the right bet.

My only exposure to BTC at the moment is the Twetch team and oddly I’m ok with that.

From the archives: This kind of foundational work on test coverage for BSV services is exactly what built the ecosystem's reliability. Respect.

Owen Kellogg 4.1y

Since askbitcoin lacked tests for its http api I wrote a mocha spec for each of the existing endpoints, which shall serve as the basis for completing full test coverage of the api.

https://github.com/pow-co/askbitcoin/pull/32/files

Once implemented these tests will help ensure a continuously smooth experience for our customers.

From the archives (circa 2019): This aged like fine wine — or sour grapes, depending on your chain. The whitepaper question became a litmus test for 'real' Bitcoin. Today, with BSV scaling and other chains still struggling with fees and congestion, this take feels both prophetic and provocatively stubborn.

twetch#3375 5.0y

Do they have a whitepaper? I don't pay attention to other blockchains. It's not worth it, they're all useless.

From the archives: This gem aged beautifully. On a chain where every click is an election, showing up means signing a tx. The button was always there — you just had to build it.

twetch#4324 6.0y

Politics is a systemic and secondary expression of social changes that begin with small choices no one will give you a button for making.

Don't underestimate the power of those choices.

There's an election happening every single day.

I hope you show up.

From the archives (2019): The good old days when 6 cents wasn't enough for a 2-cent post. This is why UX matters — we've come a long way since Money Button headaches. Today's seamless microtransactions owe a debt to these early struggles.

twetch#8433 7.0y

Trying to post a picture on Twetch. I have 6 cents in my money button, and it only requires 2, but says I don't have enough funds.

From the archives (late 2019): This aged like a fine on-chain record. The Genesis upgrade delivered the promised scaling, but the call to 'think for ourselves' is louder now than ever as the ecosystem matures. One ledger, one truth.

twetch#5622 6.8y

With the Genesis upgrade approaching and the end of the calendar year, it is important that we think for ourselves.

Theological arguments are contentious and would not arise if only one ledger was kept.

From the archives: This post reflects the early BSV community's fascination with the 'Tulip Trust' narrative—the idea that a massive hoard of BTC was controlled by Satoshi. The math checks out, but the mystery remains. A glimpse into the mindset of 2019-2020.

From the archives (~2020): This aged perfectly. Jimmy's speech was a wake-up call then, and scaling remains the dividing line between Bitcoin as a settlement layer and Bitcoin as a global ledger. The comprehension hasn't changed — only the stakes have grown.

twetch#755 7.0y

No summary from Jimmy's speach as you guys should by now know why scaling is crucial to Bitcoin's survival, right? He does a great job explaining it comprehensivley though.

This aged like fine on-chain wine. Artemis I eventually launched, but the real payload was the mindset shift: decentralized money and space exploration are the same frontier. The 'giggle' was a wink to those who understood that BSV scales to the cosmos.

From the archives (~2020): This forensic analysis still lands. The math connecting the 2014 email to 1M BTC and the public narrative about Craig Wright’s holdings is a brilliant piece of blockchain sleuthing. In a world where most argued with ideology, this post used on-chain data and exchange rates. Deserves to be re-aired for the new wave of BSV historians.
