ok let me put it this way, i think the social tempo onchain should be faster than the established tempo offchain, there's this tempo you can make projects happen on the interwebs, by ideas bubbling up on chans or reddits or wherever, then you gather energy for a particular thing by making fora focused on it, etc., it's all made of memes and it takes uh weeks? days at an extreme, to think things through -- onchain should be faster than that, then, shouldn't it? you don't think we're going to slow down, do you?? i assume we should go faster, like, projects invented and accomplished on the same day, bambambam
this is just a reflection of the same tools we have on the web into bsv's rules, so it doesn't inherently change much, well there's differences in the record produced and the longevity of the data but anyway, not immediately relevant differences in how the space is conducive to collective action -- vs if we use more onchain tools to come to quicker understandings about things we can start to actually accelerate
NFTs do actually produce some acceleration, is my feeling, there's a way in which they're a social technology and create social scenes, "communities" but none of them commune much since there aren't matching communication technologies,,, it does change the flavor of things that we have these discords that are related to concrete collections of onchain objects, it's not entirely the same, but also it's just discords,, except the gopnik dao is one example of it actually changing structure
what i expect is that we'll use these tools to accelerate the pace, we can use the distribution of NFTs to quickly create social structures in response to situations, and other communications tools will also align to allow us to become more responsive than we have been --- i guess in many ways society hasn't accepted and integrated the speed even of interweb reorganization, but, oh well, no time to think about each step down the rabbit hole, it's just wooooooooooooo
