Markets don't necessarily need marketplaces. But they do need participants, actors in the market.
Most markets need mechanics in place that enable visibility and exchange. But a market can form organically too by demand among actors. Actors will bridge gaps in the market with their own legwork if the opportunities are there. opportunities derive from value proposition .
Ideally, I think you need some of both of these happening together to gain momentum for a real market to emerge.
Markets that require excessive promotion often die out once the promotion stops. This would be a case of a market with a lack of value proposition or lack of differentiation from others.
Would be nice to have a problem of "too many users" in bsv to help us focus on that class of issues top-down . imagine if anybody launches a Bsv app, they had 100k users trying it out on first day.
The net of it is it would bring in bigger investment $ for apps to solve those issues up front.
unfortunately when we talk bsv app scaling, we are mostly stuck discussing the hypothetical and the future
Bsv is a native value transfer system. All we have to do is build markets that enable data to find value
Markets enable bsv network to become a value magnet, whether it's in games or B2C or infrastructure
BSV will suck out the value from the rest of the internet, leaving legacy internet with value scraps. In a nutshell, that's how we slay Goliath, but it starts with making more people see this is possible

I have criticized BSV OGs and Bitcoin Association for not trying hard enough to use apps on BSV
