We are experimenting with this at BlockPost. At the moment we are running three separate instances that all read from the blockchain and do not share any state. All of them only synchronize with Bitcoin and are all usable and able to interact wit the network seemlessly. It really is a fantastic way to scale a global application.
Bitcoin offers a new approach to doing edge computing. Marketing should help explain emerging data markets from user/device endpoints and how Bitcoin can better meet needs than legacy cloud computing models. If Taal, nChain or somebody else cracks that nut, it opens up multi-billion dollar markets.
It's easier to find places to create value with Bitcoin starting at the edge.

The Enterprise Blockchain message is sharper when aimed toward B2C businesses and enabling business models like B2B2C. There is clearer advantage in the security model and the public ledger when engaging with a consumer endpoint. There is also the onboarding barrier there, but that's another discussion. Too many in B2B are cool enough with private blockchains to not be early BSV adopters. Maybe after a few years of B2C success, they'd come along.
Across crypto, centralized groups of people have set the criteria and terms for "what is decentralized". Conveniently for them, any means of being useful and low cost was excluded.
Its a load of stupidity that so many people blindly follow them .
Visa publicly shows support for shitcoin-based NFT's because they are afriad of low costs, low friction transactions on BSV.
