Maybe for you it will become more interesting once you can put your podcast on-chain.

The real community is just that: people who prefer to have their posts on-chain where they don't get deleted or changed, instead of being at the mercy of nerd-lords like Gaylon.

Well, BSV has created a way to seize assets and confiscate funds without redoing the Proof of Work. So nothing is really permanent, you never know.

True. Not everyone is happy about that. Time will tell how that plays out.

But on-chain is still on-chain.

What is the big deal. If you are enterprise and get hacked and have no way to get your property back would you adopt? It's also childish to believe that you can live outside of law, as if because you had this exterior medium of exchange that you could put government in it's place. You resolve almost everything in dollars so how can you have this work outside of law? You want better law it's going to take a lot more than picking a coin. The thing that scares you most is precisely the thing that you will end up with. DAR or no DAR. "I'm worried about govt seizing my coins, but if it's stolen it's fair game".

Confiscation isn't the only way to get your property back. You can always find the thieves, like with any other stolen property.

Once the thieves are identified, you force them to return the property. That's what we do with everything else, isn't it?

Why should Bitcoin in that regard be any different than everything else?

Because it can. Because it's similar but unlike everything else. None of this means you don't have an investigation.

That's an entirely different thing than confiscation, which comes with obvious risks.

Also, why do you need to redo proof of work? It's an amendment to the historical record. You can see here it was stolen and then returned. System remains intact

IMHO if you're against having stolen bitcoins returned, you haven't got nearly enough bitcoins...

IMHO, if you want Bitcoin to be changed by Craig Wright to allow confiscation, you aren't a set in stone kinda guy.

IMHO if you can't get back what was stolen from you, this has got no future. Fine and dandy the electronic cash system, losing a couple of bucks here or there, thousands if you're more flippant...but if you've squilians that have provably gone amiss??

🤣🤣😂

My understanding of the court ordered utxo re-assignment is there would still be a record of the seizure. The spend would still be on-chain in a new transaction

Will certainly be entertaining the first time it gets used

It will still be onchain, even if there were a court ordered seizure, it would all be recorded on chain forever. Don't get things twisted.

And yet the bitcoin ASSociation couldn't help me get back $6,000 of my stolen BSV. Tried every avenue and was told the starting cost to recover for lawyers and court was $3500. and my small amount was not worth recovering.

Is there an expiration date on that claim? Say it 10x'ed from here and there is a value worth litigation

I wondered the same thing. it happened from a handcash wallet. because the wallet requires an email, THAT was the vulnerability. but i do still have the onchain activity and the wallet address where it was sent.

Yeah tools for recovery should be for everyone. VISA will reverse a 25 dollar fraudulent charge and banks debit cards do the same. Crypto your on your own it seems
