I guess asking locals for directions could lead to some fun exploring. But taxi drivers take tourists all over the place every day, so they know the area really well. They might even take you to some hidden gems that most visitors don't know about!
And Japanese taxis are very safe, so there's really nothing to worry about.

Actually, in Japan, there's a lever next to the driver's seat. The driver operates that lever to open and close the rear passenger door!

Since prices in the U.S. are generally higher than in Japan, I thought taxis in Japan might seem relatively affordable.
You can take a taxi in Japan starting from about $4.31. The fare then increases based on the distance traveled.
I also wonder if paying with cash makes some travelers nervous because they don't know how much the final fare will be.
That's why I was thinking that if people could pay with USDT, USDC, or JPYC, they might feel more comfortable using taxis without worrying about payment.
