taxis are expensive here in the UK.

majority of taxis have a minimum fee before you set off which at times can be more than the value of the actual journey itself, similar to Japan

That does sound pretty similar. The starting fare for a taxi in Japan is about £3.53. 👀
Japanese taxi companies are very well organized and highly regulated, so I think their biggest advantage is that they're one of the safest and most reliable ways to get to your destination compared with taxis in many other countries. 🚕

thats a pretty close base fare to what it is over here 🤣

and thats where the similarities end...uk taxis are far from organised, usually late, and definitely not the most reliable moment transport lol
