Yikes.
You really do actually want to fully cook ground meat. Not because of the taste (I eat steaks med rare at best), but because the surface area of exposed meat is basically 98% for non-intact meat. Any contaminant is going to have a field day in there

I suppose at this point in my life I’ve eaten burgers medium rare to medium and never had any issues so the risk vs reward is worth the deliciousness lol

If you get them from someone you trust, then sure. I've eaten less-than-well-done burgers but I always knew the meat was ground from intact pieces right then.

It's a much higher chance to brew up salmonella or listeria or e.coli.

And like I said. If I had ever had an issue with this or known of someone who had then I’d worry. But I guess so far so good 🤞🏼

Yeah, sorry. Part and parcel of being a food safety inspector. I have looked into the abyss, and it looked back and said, "Roll the dice"
