The Free Silver Movement of the late-19th Century was one of the greatest political battles in American history.
It spawned no less than three new parties, split the Republicans in two, and took over the Democratic Party almost entirely.

Trying to invest as much as I can this year in organizations dedicated to keeping us human.
Oh no! They're certainly an acquired taste.
Never had 'em in a soup but I find them to be a refreshing addition to stir fry or dried and powdered as a flour.
Permaculture can bear tremendous yields!
You're just not going to be eating staple annual crops and supply chains would be significantly shorter by necessity.
Northern MI - close only in acronym!
Both a bounty of natural beauty, though.
Like a nutty water chestnut! :D

But regional varieties are half the fun of odd plants!
On-chain Permies, the true Farmer's Almanac!
Reporting in from Zone 4B, your tomato seedlings look very healthy :) We didn't have great luck hardening ours off this year. Trying to shift to more edible perennials.
