I'm being cheeky of course! As I assume you were about subjective value = prostitutes and liquor.

I love the vision of building totally new everything. Go do it!

I don't hate Slack s much as you. I'd have to see something better before I feel pain there.

Me: plugins would be fun.
U: pay per use>flat.
Me: not always.
U: security sucks on those apps.
Me: not for most.
U: Facebook creates no value.
Me: most people value it.
U: they are idiots.
Me: to win, appeal to their preferences.
U: Y u hate my company?

You’re saying this as though this isn’t the platform I made with my friends to end all of the social media bullshit we’ve been talking about for the last few hours.

We’re here to get people paid, we’re here to remove the noise from market signals.

I love what you're making. I value it.

I said this because when I said people need to value your product you said that would mean selling prostitutes and liquor.

An accurate view of the market is useful.

Understanding the value competitors create for people helps you better out-compete them.

Just calling their customers losers for valuing the service will limit your market. That's OK if you want a niche market!

You don't have to be.

You have to find creative ways to meet the deeper desires people have, which they are currently meeting with shitty solutions.

Wishing they had different desires won't do it.

Connect their preferences with your product.

A company can only succeed if they solve a problem that customers agree is a problem.

They have to feel the problem. The more the better.

If you have to first convince them they have a problem before you sell a solution, you're gonna have a bad time.

You've got to create something that results in a better outcome when they act on their subj. self interest, not just tell them, "Change your preferences".

That's why this shit's so hard

Appeal to current preferences and lead to better habits.

*Unless you're a government, backed by a monopoly on violence. Then you can create the problem, and steal money for them to fund the solution which creates a new problem, for which you take more money for more solutions which create more problems...

If you have more than one value prop, you don't have a value prop.

I dig your style frog.

Keep making things as easy to use as Twetch and you will.

Would love to see default encryption.

Bitcoin ledger is public though, so scanning messages there also possible unless encrypted, and I suspect Slack and others could also be encrypted.

The libertarian argument against taxation is that it's theft, not voluntary, and that a monopoly with no competition faces bad incentives so will provide services sub-optimally.

Has nothing to do with payment plans.

Value in the economic sense is subjective.

They clearly value it.

You need them to value your product too. Not on your definition, but theirs.

Only if you use less than avg other user.

Stress factor too. Gladly pay $10/mo even if I use $8 almost every month, bc one month I might need $30 worth and don't want that variability.

Every product has different optimal pricing for different customers.

Fine me a VC who can take an idea from Slack message and make viable business to compete with me.

Ideas are way less valuable than people imagine.

Doubt it's worth anyone's time to scour Slack channels looking to steal them.

PS - bitcoin is a public ledger

I'm all for it, but platforms got big for a reason.

Users are on social because they benefit. It's not zero-sum, but win-win.

You can make a better win-win, but naive to pretend people are getting bilked on FB. They are getting value.

So does prepaid monthly, post-paid monthly, short term flat contract, short term adjustable contract, and every other payment option companies in the market offer to voluntary customers.

Many prefer flat fees to per use.

That's a completely different value prop.

The privacy/own your data pitch will win over some people. Good niche to target. (Like DuckDuckGo does with search)

But very few have reason to be concerned rn about slack secrets being stolen.

Also, as a biz owner, I'd much rather pay $8/seat for unlimited Slack usage and never have to think about it than a metered/micro $ model.

Not everything is improved with micropayments.

Cool. But creating a new category is needed before you create products to fill it.

A new data/payment structure is a new category/use case.

Get people using it within current habits first. Then they'll demand your newer, better tools.

Also also, you're mostly solving problems people don't know they have. Not felt needs.

"Use a new app when you're not unhappy with Slack" is tough.

"Use this plugin that makes Slack more fun" is easier, and can lead to "I wish Slack was more optimized"

14tJYP…1xwt Key · twetch

Plugin for Slack:

After team member hits daily message quota, they must pay $ per message posted.

Funds go into company happy hour/vacation account.

14tJYP…1xwt Key · twetch

I don't want entirely new consumer apps on BSV.

I want plugins and extensions for apps I already use.

Gmail plugin to add pay/get paid to email.
Slack plugin to add message fees.
Calendly plugin to allow price per meeting.
Zoom plugin to charge for Q$A.
