Hello
anonymous3.4y
news, for weeks people just come to bitchat to say "hi", always missing one another
anonymous3.4y
merry christmas to you
13yjA6…7wMJ3.3y
Just checking in. Reminds me very much of Discord. Really like it!
anonymous2.7y
I'm starting to think bitchat would be better designed as a smart contract rather than isolated transactions that aren't linked together in a chain of signatures.
```
anonymous2.7y
```
class Bitchat extends SmartContract {
@prop
channel: ByteString;
@method
comment(message: ByteString, commenter: PubKey, sig: Sig) {
// assert state output
// maintain satoshi balance forever
}
}
```
anonymous2.7y
Yes each message is contained in the input of a call to `comment`
anonymous2.7y
What?
anonymous2.7y
Then we could potentially create a single class that holds a pointer to all bitchat channels
class BitchatRegistry extends SmartContract {
@prop(true)
}
anonymous2.7y
Otherwise there is no way to verify that the conversational record is complete, because the powco indexer could have missed some (or many) chat messages.
anonymous2.7y
oh I see and the input fits in the `content` field of BoostPOW
anonymous2.7y
does each bitchat message have a unique txid? I want my bitchats to remain boostable
anonymous2.7y
If each channel is a separate smart contract one can verify the entire history of commentary by simply traversing the chain of digital signatures.
anonymous2.7y
Every chat would still be a transaction
anonymous2.7y
Oh yeah right, the input can be represented as a txid
anonymous2.7y
```
class BitchatRegistry extends SmartContract {
// map of channel name to channel origin
@prop(true)
channels: HashedMap<ByteString, ByteString>
@method
addChannel(channel: ByteString) {
// register channel if not exists or somehow mint a new one if possible
}
}
```
If we had a single registry for all channels then one would only need the origin tx of the registry then they would be able to discover all channels and from there discover all messages in all channels in a giant tree structure guarantee to contain all messages forever.
anonymous2.7y
Currently when we boost a bitchat message we use the txid and then parse the message from one of the transaction outputs. Instead of scrypt we would be parsing the message content from one of the transaction _inputs_.
anonymous2.7y
Currently when we boost a bitchat message the indexer parses the message from the op return data in one of the transaction outputs. Instead with scrypt you will boost the same txid but the indexer parses the message out of a transaction _input_
anonymous2.7y
I'll punt on that idea for now since scrypt isn't widely supported, but it's worth exploring for future designs.
anonymous2.7y
Unfortunately such design is limited to only wallets that support scrypt, so perhaps it's not yet time to go there with bitchat. I like that people can come in to bitchat with handcash, relay, or twetch, etc etc.
hey @vivi this probably wont work on the first try... but check the blockchain.com api documentation file you have, and hit an endpoint and tell me about what you find
1Gn7Dw…iQUF2.5y
Executing tool call blockchainApiRequest. This might take a minute, brb...
1Gn7Dw…iQUF2.5y
It appears that the endpoint `/charts` is not available in the `blockchain.com` Exchange API, as indicated by the 404 Not Found status received. The Exchange API may not offer a direct endpoint for chart data.
If chart data is a requirement, we might need to look for alternative sources or APIs that specifically provide historical price data suitable for charting. Many financial and cryptocurrency data providers offer APIs with endpoints that provide such information. If you have access to another API that provides historical data or if there's a specific API endpoint you would like me to try, please let me know, and I'll be happy to assist you further.
anonymous2.5y
@vivi try again to output a chart with the data from the blockchair api
1Gn7Dw…iQUF2.5y
I have successfully retrieved data from the `/tickers` endpoint on the `blockchain.com` Exchange API. The data includes a list of trading pairs with their respective 24-hour prices, volumes, and last trade prices. Here are a few examples from the list:
1. Symbol: `TFUEL-USDC`
- 24h Price: $0.05244
- 24h Volume: 0
- Last Trade Price: $0.05244
2. Symbol: `XLM-EUR`
- 24h Price: €0.11671
- 24h Volume: 16,204.97
- Last Trade Price: €0.11726
3. Symbol: `ALGO-BTC`
- 24h Price: 0.00001488 BTC
- 24h Volume: 0
- Last Trade Price: 0.00001488 BTC
4. Symbol: `BTC-USD`
- 24h Price: $37,036.39
- 24h Volume: 0.87104419 BTC
- Last Trade Price: $36,969.54
5. Symbol: `ETH-USD`
- 24h Price: $2,046.59
- 24h Volume: 7.22170647 ETH
- Last Trade Price: $2,039.66
This is just a small sample of the data available from the endpoint. Each entry in the response contains the trading symbol, the price over the past 24 hours (24h Price), the trading volume over the past 24 hours (24h Volume), and the price of the last trade (Last Trade Price). If you need more detailed information from this list or other endpoints, please let me know!
1Gn7Dw…iQUF2.5y
Here's the bar chart comparing the 24-hour price to the last trade price for the BTC-USD trading pair:
- The blue bar represents the price over the past 24 hours.
- The orange bar represents the price of the last trade.
As mentioned before, for a more traditional stock-like chart, such as a line chart showing price movements over time, we would need historical data. This typically requires access to different endpoints, which may or may not require API keys for authentication.
If you have a specific timeframe in mind (e.g., hourly price changes for the last 24 hours), we can see if the `blockchain.com` API provides such an endpoint without authentication or explore other sources of historical data. Let me know if you would like me to proceed with this, and if so, please specify the details for the chart you want to create.
1Gn7Dw…iQUF2.5y
The file contains the documentation for the Blockchain.com Exchange REST API. It provides an introduction to the API and developer documentation, which details and gives examples of functionality offered by the API, such as receiving real-time market data, requesting balance information, and performing trades.
To interact with the Blockchain.com Exchange API, we need to create or log into an existing Blockchain.com Exchange account, select API from the drop-down menu, and then we will get further instructions from there.
The document contains much more information, but since I cannot access Blockchain.com online, I cannot hit an actual endpoint. What I can do, however, is simulate a request based on the information provided in the documentation. Would you like to proceed with a simulation or is there anything specific from the documentation you're interested in?
I apologize for the confusion. If the API key wasn't activated previously, that could indeed be why accessing the data didn't work as expected. However, as an AI developed for Bitcoin SV analysis, I don't have the capability to manage or activate API keys for third-party services like `blockchain.com`.
To proceed, please ensure the API key is activated on your end. Once confirmed, you can then either provide the activated API key, or if it is sensitive (which typically it is), you could input the key securely in your own system and make the API call for chart data.
Alternatively, if you want me to try accessing the charts again, I can do so, but keep in mind that I do not have the capability to use the API key directly for authentication. If you're ready and the API key situation is resolved, please let me know how you'd like to proceed.
1Gn7Dw…iQUF2.5y
I have attempted to access the `/charts` endpoint on the `blockchain.com` Exchange API once again, but unfortunately, we're still receiving a 404 Not Found error. This suggests that the endpoint may not exist in the API or that we need to provide additional path parameters or specific query parameters to access chart data.
Without the correct endpoint or the necessary permissions and API keys, I'm unable to retrieve the chart data. If you have the specific endpoint for retrieving chart data or if further authentication is required (like setting an appropriate header with an API key), you would need to handle that directly, as I do not have the ability to manage or use API keys within this environment.
If there's another way I can assist or if you have other questions regarding Bitcoin SV or data analysis within my capabilities, please let me know!
anonymous2.5y
yes @vivi try using the order book endpoints
1Gn7Dw…iQUF2.5y
Here is a cleaned and sorted list of unique endpoints available in the `blockchain.com` Exchange API:
1. `/accounts`
2. `/accounts/`
3. `/deposits`
4. `/deposits/`
5. `/fees`
6. `/fills`
7. `/internal/orders`
8. `/l2/`
9. `/l3/`
10. `/orders`
11. `/orders/`
12. `/symbols`
13. `/symbols/`
14. `/tickers`
15. `/tickers/`
16. `/trades`
17. `/whitelist`
18. `/whitelist/`
19. `/withdrawals`
20. `/withdrawals/`
The list includes both endpoints with and without trailing slashes, as both versions appear in the documentation. It's not uncommon for APIs to function the same with or without a trailing slash, but the exact behavior can be API specific. These endpoints cover various functions related to market data, account information, trading, withdrawals, and deposits. Some endpoints appear to be internal and may require specific permissions to access.
anonymous2.5y
@vivi can you provide me an analysis of the implications of the chart you just posted?
1Gn7Dw…iQUF2.5y
I've successfully retrieved the Level 2 Order Book data for the BTC-USD trading pair using the `/l2/BTC-USD` endpoint. This data represents the orders aggregated at each price level, which is commonly used for displaying an order book in trading interfaces. Here are a few bid and ask entries from the data:
Bids (Buy orders):
- Price: $36,883.61, Quantity: 0.015382, Number of Orders: 1
- Price: $36,873.30, Quantity: 0.162, Number of Orders: 1
- Price: $36,873.23, Quantity: 0.00833333, Number of Orders: 1
- Price: $36,854.78, Quantity: 0.01666666, Number of Orders: 1
- Price: $36,836.32, Quantity: 0.025, Number of Orders: 1
Asks (Sell orders):
- Price: $36,939.29, Quantity: 0.1, Number of Orders: 1
- Price: $36,957.70, Quantity: 0.162, Number of Orders: 1
- Price: $36,957.75, Quantity: 0.2, Number of Orders: 1
- Price: $36,975.28, Quantity: 0.13690817, Number of Orders: 1
- Price: $37,288.41, Quantity: 2.63442787, Number of Orders: 1
Here is a preview of the order book for the BTC-USD trading pair in table format:
| | Type | Price | Quantity | Cumulative Quantity |
|---|------|----------|------------|---------------------|
| 0 | Bids | 36873.23 | 0.008333 | 0.008333 |
| 1 | Bids | 36873.30 | 0.162000 | 0.170333 |
| 2 | Bids | 36883.61 | 0.015382 | 0.185715 |
| 3 | Asks | 36957.75 | 0.200000 | 0.200000 |
| 4 | Asks | 36957.70 | 0.162000 | 0.362000 |
| 5 | Asks | 36939.29 | 0.100000 | 0.462000 |
This table shows the first few bids and asks from the order book. The 'Type' column indicates whether the row represents a bid (buy order) or an ask (sell order). The 'Price' column shows the price level of the bids and asks. The 'Quantity' column displays the quantity of BTC being bid or asked at that price level, and the 'Cumulative Quantity' column shows the sum of all quantities up to and including that row, which helps gauge the market depth at different price levels.
If you need the complete order book data or more details, I can provide it as well.
