In the 21st Century, if you have land it will become only more valuable. And not just for the fun of speculation.
12 billion people are going to need food, and you can't grow it all without healthy soils.
Self-grown food is also nutritionally superior because the grower has a choice of species that CANT grow commercially, but CAN on a household plot.
Native Aus foods are some ridiculous multiple more nutritious than many old world counterparts. List coming
I have no idea what is causing global warming (havent done my own research so cant comment). Dont really care - its here and we have to adjust.

Why you might want to grow your own food, exhibit A:
(Taken from Dirt to Soil by Gabe Brown)
Some folk claim you should homestead or bust - I'm not so sure, consider that the strongest thing a human can have is a community, and homesteading often means removing yourself from one.
So the theme of this account is going to be, why you would want to grow your own food, and how you might do this whilst still living a 21st Century life - so, working full-time, living in a sub/urban setting, etc.
Haha, I could talk about plants forever! I think a plant/gardening-focused twetch (e.g. subcategories: indoor plants, permaculture, homesteading, food preservation) could be quite useful and awesome. 🌱🌷🌻
Anyway, 8billion people cant all homestead. My focus will be on urban or suburban dwellers who are relatively time-poor.
Why might these people want to grow their own food?
