Yes, boost mining is a seperate service that you have to pay for. But you can integrate boost outputs into transactions that also facilitate payments for content creators and/or the underlying service without adding much cost onto the transaction.
3untz Name and picture from twetch — not on-chain. The signature is; the profile is not.

You're saying that as if Twetch isn't a terrible name too lol. It'll be interesting to see how each business model plays out. Pay-to-play, get paid for every interaction vs free-to-play with optional tips. Only time will tell. My bets are on Twetch TBH 😉
As a side note, does anyone actually use or even know about Weiblock anymore?
I think at this point it'll be hard for apps like Weiblock and Powping to not be seen as simply "Twetch clones". Twetch is clearly a premium product in comparison, IMO ready to be marketed to real people outside of the crypto space.
Tips as upvotes, even with commissions, are not sybil proof. On top of that it is usually not profitable for the one tipping. The concept of a token is also not necessarily sybil proof. If you'd have to buy the tokens, you might as well use Boost instead.
A reputation record based on what? And I didn't say that you can't make profit off of that system. It CAN
I think the phrase "upload to the chain" is misleading. It implies the chain itself is some sort of magic cloud storage service, rather than a database being voluntarily stored by miners. "Add" or "link" to the chain would be more accurate terminology IMO.
Currently miners only provide proof of work for new blocks, nothing else. Though @24 is changing this with Matterpool. Define "better results". Generalized PoW for arbitrary data was not something miners could provide before Boost.
This is by far the best video to learn how proof of work blockchains like BitCoin work under the hood: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_160oMzblY8
In the part 2 video he explains in more depth how transactions and signatures work.
Congrats man, that's awesome.
People don't understand that a "Layer 2" would be something contained within bitcoin script itself. Lightning is not a layer "on top of" or "within" bitcoin, it's a separate network entirely. Looks like they might be starting to realize that though.
I like the default apps like chat and notebooks because of the way they work seamlessly with the Urbit ID system. The idea of everything being built on top of Nock is also really cool, it'd be interesting to see a hardware ASIC/CPU for it in the future.
it's pretty awesome, although hard to get into for newbies that don't regularly use the command line.
Don't recoil from the uncomfortable. Lean into it. Explore the weak points, and build creative practice regimens to strengthen those weak points
livestream chats would be much better if you had to calculate unique proof of work for each message
This is neat $osg
Looks like it's going to be a great day today 🌞

It's true actually, I get all the fly honeys with my magic numbers
He could definitely buy PoW for each of his sockpuppet accounts, there's no stopping him. But he will eventually go broke buying small PoW for hundreds of accounts. It would be more beneficial for him to attribute all that energy to a single account.
PoW doesn't necessarily just benefit those with more money. On an algo with no ASICs, you can calculate PoW yourself using any modern device. This means you can spend battery life and time instead of money to promote your(or someone else's) content.
did you disable the brave shield?
I'd imagine apps like Twetch help keep Bitcoin SV's transaction numbers higher, no?
Yes, and you can actually see a live feed of transactions coming from the different services built on top of BSV using https://bitcoinblocks.live/
Ah ok. AFAIK the electrum derivation path is different than the standard bip39 path most wallets use.
are the words in the order you posted?
OK. I'm assuming it's a standard BIP39 seed with the derivation path m/44'/0'/0', correct? Or is it specifically an electrum seed?
