before I die I want to learn to play acoustic guitar or piano or both

Both are good starting instruments. If you want to dive into theory and write your own songs I would suggest learning piano first because it’s very linear. Guitar is good if you want to jam with other people or take out places.

both are capable of either, theory on guitar is the same but just not as intuitive. Also they both can hit the same genres and are flexible in how you play them. The only thing about guitar is deciding if you want steel (contemporary) or nylon (classic)

There's a special tone that rings so beautiful from an acoustic guitar tho.
Depending on how it was constructed and the tuning has to be just right.
It's like a hum behind the melody.

I fully agree. The way all the strings can harmonize is enchanting and pairs with the voice beautifully. I have an old art & lutherie guitar that I love and has treated me very well

I'm not a guitarist, but I love to hear things that cannot be replicated digitally.
Reminds me of something truly divine.
