Why are they still using Visa as the benchmark
when Tencent has set the bar

I did the math back in 2019
even back then and ONLY financial TX
Tencent would require 6GB blocks continuously
That is not including messages and everything else they do
just wechat payments,
6GB every block, and it's most definitely more by now.

Because Satoshi compared Bitcoin to Visa 🤷‍♂️
But the world has moved on.
In Thailand everyone pays for things using banking apps. I go to a market and I can buy something for 10 baht and pay via QR code on my banking app. No fee.
I pay 10 baht the seller gets 10 baht.
Times have changed.

Of course
which is why i asked "why are they still"
I used to call this out years ago
times have most definitely changed
visa is no longer the benchmark they are competing with

and yes I know about the banking apps
and the gov apps
and the recent data leak
*not everyone😉

Oh definitely with you on the tracking etc via banking apps.
But it is going to be very difficult getting people to use Bitcoin as cash when the banking apps are so smooth now.
We are talking about people who literally give Silicon Valley all their data for free because they are allowed to use cuckbook, fakegram, asstok etc

Will they ever wake up?

To them scanning a QR code is the same thing.

Using Bitcoin as cash
TBH, now I only think that is possible if forced upon a population, almost certainly does not look like it would happen organically like it had a chance of years ago.
And if banks/big tech/Gov's wanted it
There is no reason why they wouldn't run their own chain
or even reboot bitcoin, as they won't care about licensing
The biggest hurdle is they do not want their business public.
