yet millions are walking around with masks on, knowing that masks do nothing against a virus. it has nothing to do with how smart someone is. fear is a strong drug.

the problem with you is that you lack empathy. you are not 𝘧𝘦𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 how others feel.

You are right. I do not feel their fear. I walk around without wearing a mask every day.

Most people choose fear over common sense.

my mother won't even come out of her room. since this began, she has missed birthdays, holidays, and won't even visit her family a block away from her. and don't you dare believe she isn't "smart". she has been a teacher all her life and is almost 70.

now times that by several million around the world.

just because you are an "exception" doesn't mean you can be totally blind to what is happening all around you. i feel for those people who are told to live in fear.

Average age of those who die of covid is 78. So yes, it is actually smart to protect yourself if you are an elder.

It is common sense for the vulnerable to quarantine themselves and avoid contact with others. Not so for healthy people under 60.
