It depends how you define government, I’m assuming you are a US citizen. Remember “we the people” is your government. You have local, state, and federal elected representatives, I can guarantee the majority do indeed want you to live a long and happy life. A minority of exceptional psychopathic sycophants have unfortunately fed on your compassion like the parasites they are. We have been infected for generations but now the symptoms are too big to ignore. Good men believe in freedom and liberty, we always let evil push us to the brink until we finally say enough.
