I understand the R&D aspect and that somebody who put a lot of time, work and money into a specific goal wants compensation and a reward.
However, many (all?) patents are based on simple universal concepts which have been invented and used by nature first.
Mankind just observes and copies those concepts.
And because every thought can be rethought and every observation can be observed again I still have some problem with the concept of "patents" and "copyrights".
