I give it a try and restoring from trusthold works (restore also works with qr code). I think a unique 3d point cloud is stored not image of the face, same as with apple face id, don't know if one's face gets dramatically changed if it still unlocks...

Definitely not the same as Apple ID. Apple ID storage is on your device not the cloud and especially not to a centralised company in China.

Point there. But having a face linked to honest money under a company doesn’t concern me as much as a fingerprint would, I just wish that it’d be encrypted on chain not just on their server.
Yeah na. no thanks. I dont care how trustworthy they are. All the chinese government needs to do is order for them to turn in their server and they get everyones identity.
I don't think they do. They get email, 3d point face cloud, IP that's it. Hard to rebuild identity from that to forge it for other means. Simpler with other approaches. Still feeling safe :)
it's easy to secure this by having the company NOT hold any valuable data:
Use the data (like face) on the phone to generate a reproducible random hash, use that hash as a seed to generate private key.
No need to store anything on a server ever.
People are just afraid of anything personal stored on a company server. Actually nobody can ever do anything with the data stored but people just worry and don't trust, yes, we are researching on storing on BSV gradually
