"woke" is very very quiet. Ramana Maharishi serves as an example. He didn't talk much yet people felt his awareness and flocked to him.
It is always now - to awaken is to realize this e v e r y moment. I'm not sure we'd be here if we were truly "woke".
The ultimate spiritual teacher does not satisfy the mind, Sri Ramana never did. It's why riddles are beautiful.

Yeah life is a riddle indeed! Personally, my mind will run me in circles if I let it. Which is all too often. Lol. But as the great mystic poet Rumi says, "keep knocking and the joy inside will eventually open a window and look out to see who's there."

Yes! I love reading Rumi to set my attitude from time to time. In his poem "What draws you?" he speaks of the dichotomy you reference.
