Yeah life is a riddle indeed! Personally, my mind will run me in circles if I let it. Which is all too often. Lol. But as the great mystic poet Rumi says, "keep knocking and the joy inside will eventually open a window and look out to see who's there."
What a great human being Rumi was.
I find the difference between the mystical part of any religion and the mainstream part fascinating.
Seems like it's everywhere the same:
Few find their way and live it, many find a way and try to force OTHERS onto it.
Yes! I love reading Rumi to set my attitude from time to time. In his poem "What draws you?" he speaks of the dichotomy you reference.
"Both are drawn from the source. Any motion is from the mover. Any love from the beloved."
