If you mix vit. C and iodine you get iodide, if I remember correctly. Not bad either, but something else.
A word of warning:
Iodine is very powerful and too much can be harmful. The detox effect alone can produce herxheimer reactions that aren't funny.

If I remember correctly the bromide in chocolate blocks iodine absorption.
But since you mention it, magnesium is another incredibly important substance
Unfortunately it is being taken out of salt because it attracts water
I was craving salt all my life and finally realized that what my body was really looking for was magnesium
I didn’t know chocolate had bromide. Weird. We get enough of that already in our diets though... and it’s toxic.

Yes, "iodine allergy" is myth (except allergy to radioactive iodine used in medical imaging (detox!)). Noone is allergic to iodine, but EVERYONE is allergic to fluoride, mercury & lead toxins which iodine flushes but problem is fixed by system w dose ramp.
