As Spring gets underway here in Scotland, the birds are starting to sing. Here's my painting of a wren - one of my favourite birds. Such an amazingly loud, complex song for such a tiny bird.
My painting of a Pine Martin on a found piece of slate, just 3 ½" tall
Trial & error, watching others, YouTube, & 15 years' practice. Having been a physio for 40-odd years, I know the anatomy too. 🙏
Oil painting I did of my daughter, based on the painting 'Soul of the Rose' by John William Waterhouse (1849-1917). We both love his work.
Welcome @elliotgrafton! @315
Welcome, & hello from Scotland!
I tried that & added an image but still don't know what I'm doing 😕 How do you get it to join the market feed? I appreciate your trying to help me though, thanks!
Pencil sketch I did of Barry Humphries, whilst watching him on TV. He was modelling for the final heat of the Sky Arts Portrait Artist of the Year competition 2021
I wish I knew how to do that. Can anyone explain it to me? I have a relay account...
Summer flowers from my garden, painted in oils. 6" x 6"
Coloured pencil sketch I did when in the Western Isles of Scotland recently.
Charcoal pencil sketch of Kelly Macdonald, Scottish actress. She was modelling for the programme 'Portrait Artist of the Year' on SkyArts, which I love to watch.
How lovely to see you on Twetch! I've been following you on Instagram for a while now. Your work is excellent.
It won't be painful for six weeks. You're young and will heal quickly, your pain will ease in a week or so. But you still must not lift anything heavy or bend over too much for six weeks. Take care! x
Get well soon Maasoome! Now you must rest and be careful not to strain yourself for six weeks. Laparoscopic wounds are small, but what they did inside will still need six weeks to heal. Use the time to research how to look after your liver. Take care 🤗
I'm thrilled to tell you that an oil portrait I did of my brother-in-law was long-listed for this year's Scottish Portrait Awards exhibition! It's called 'The 16th Laird' & you can see it here: https://www.scottishportraitawards.com/2021-longlist-fine-art
On my guitar, I just learned how to play the beautiful song 'Who Knows Where the Time Goes' by the late Sandy Denny, from Chris Quinn:

Just sold this little oil painting I did of a Pine Marten
This is my nearest beach, beside the oil capital of Europe, Aberdeen, Scotland. You can see oilrig supply vessels anchored near an offshore windfarm. Fossil fuels or renewables? Who will win because of, or despite, COP 26?
Pastel pencil sketch of the lovely Maasoome @6429, then I did a coloured pencil drawing of your eye, as I thought the sketch doesn't look enough like you. I hope you like it anyway... 💙
Beautiful!
You are very beautiful. Be kind to yourself 🧡
Oil painting I did of my husband. We met as children because our parents were close friends. After many years in separate parts of the country (each as single parents after failed marriages), we got together as a couple. Now five years happily married 😍
Coloured pencil sketch I did from an old photo of me aged 24. I'm trying to be Joni Mitchell again, but only she can be that good (at song writing and art!)
Beach about ten miles from my home. I love to be by the sea.

Oil painting of my Canadian brother-in-law, at the Scotch Creek salmon run. I painted this for his 70th birthday. He's still working as a fish biologist. He's a great guy and has made my sister very happy for more than 46 years.
