life really is a long strange trip and you have to keep an open mind… with the one exception that you can't be open minded to evil.

very well stated and thoroughly rational. it makes sense a counter argument would involve removing morality from the premise. doing so in my view, does make the case for the immorality of the missile however, since defending the use of it requires removing oneself from moral discussion. I understand you believe this achieves some "moral consistency" but IMO that consistency is just that morality is missing from both cases (abortions and missiles) and is replaced by a measurement of their effectiveness to the goals of the State. But let me grant your counter and approach it from a purely Pavlovian position of reward/consequence. Would it be too obvious to replace the word "abortion" in your examples with "missile" as follows:
"My perspective on war and the unintended consequences of collateral damage is driven more by personal responsibility than it is morality of killing.
To elaborate, the existence of stock piles of missiles disincentivizes people to commit to family building and promotes a bleak future where people decide to "have fun" with as many sexual partners as they want before they "settle down" because "WW3" is always near.
This leads to mismanaged expectations about life and relationships, and frequently ends in broken homes and poor economic decision making.
For those reasons, I am philosophically opposed to the manufacture of more missiles and other weapons of war without ever reaching the issue of morality in decisions of life and death in foreign lands."
I believe I have established that your position that the mere existence of abortion is a driving force for a culture of irresponsibility is a slippery slope.
I hope our discussion will continue and you will totally obliterate my counter. Thus far, you are the only person on the internet willing to accept the intellectual challenge I have proposed.
definitely not characterizing. just happy to have somebody to talk (type) to. I never use ad hominem because it's an automatic L. I always want to be proven wrong fair and square. Rather, I used rational deduction from the premise:
- I stated pro-life = anti war and if you DISAGREE to leave it in the comments.
- You commented (so I assume you disagree), making a distinction between anti-abortion and pro-life.
- I looked for clarification on this interesting philosophy by asking if you would consider a baby killed through collateral damage an abortion.
- You clearly stated NO and your reasoning- that a missile is a tool used to change the behavior of a bad actor.
- Using your own technique from step two (attack the premise), I provide a counter to your rationale- that an anti-abortion law is also a tool used to change the behavior of a bad actor.
This leaves us at the current moment in our discussion, in which you have clarified that the use of at least one of these tools, the anti-abortion law, would depend (to you) on the moral standing of the State.
To which my obvious reply is- it seems the use of a missile that may kill pregnant women by accident would also depend greatly on the moral standing of the State.
But are you disagreeing with the anti-war part of my premise? I may have misunderstood your logic from step 2. Perhaps you are simply stating that anti-abortion also equals anti-war, but simply don't want to be lumped into a category known as "pro-life?" Or are you definitely taking the counter position to my original thesis, that a person who is either pro-life or anti-abortion can also be pro-war?
yes. however, the attempt by a stranger to implement control over another human's decision to have the medical procedure, such as passing a law, can become a tool to modify a bad actor's behavior. Therefore, the missile and passing an anti-abortion law are the same. However, the results of these tools are in opposition. So how do we agree with the use of anti-abortion laws then stay silent about the potential results of collateral damage in war?
depends whether a stray missile taking out a baby counts as an abortion
GM conservatives. You cannot be pro-life and pro-war simultaneously. Pro-life = antiwar.
Think it through.
If you disagree, leave it in the comments ⬇️
she's a well known crypto trader for calling her shots publicly and getting it right most of the time. A man was going to get paid 100M to show off all of the best features of BSV? Imagine you had a buddy who cock blocked you at the club. You'd be pissed. Now imagine you had a friend who wouldn't help you make 100 Million dollars by signing his autograph. Now imagine Core Cucks paying your legal fees for the Copa Trial and you don't see the benefit of this. Cal just blasted my confidence in this trial. $5 incoming
imagine BSV had intelligent marketing and they agreed to the wager if Kara and Calvin put the money into some BSV turing complete smart contract that would release to the winner locked to an audio/video NFT. another wasted opportunity by bsv big brains
BSV marketing is the worst. the $100M Satoshi wager could have been the biggest event on-line, perhaps done live on Twitter... Instead, Calvin turns down a 100 MILLION dollar bet from little girl Kara Szabo and just looks weak AF
somebody needs to stop this Robin Linus from making BTC Turing Complete. If BTC can scale it eliminates my entire investment thesis for BSV- scaling matters
Unless this Colorado Bigfoot footage is coming directly from Todd Standing I'm not buying it.
Kara Szabo willing to hand Calvin $100M for definitive proof. 👀
how is it for WEEKS after the Maui fire they wouldn't tell us how many children died but within 24hrs of an Israel-Hamas situation Sara Silverman is tweeting about 40 dead babies?

pretty sure the "midlife crisis" is another natural stage of male development and not psychological- a second "puberty" that doesn't get researched much because of its pecking order implications for women and beta males
is there a prayer we can say to God to ask him to divert wealth and resources from the wicked and provide them instead to the righteous and any who want to build in his name?
