I’m going to work but I’ll pick this apart this evening, my initial reaction to the video tho is ‘often mild diseases’?! Smallpox (#throwback), malaria and recent trials for an HIV vaccine. These are not mild diseases.

‘December 2020 Michael Gove said that the government was not planning to introduce vaccine certification, and vaccine minister Nadhim Zahawi also ruled them out in early February 2021, stating: "That's not how we do things. We do them by consent".[8]
They’re currently leading a review on it to be published in June. Arguably, you do already need vaccines to travel to certain countries. People don’t start riots about those.
That might be why we’re struggling to meet. I have first hand experience with people working in companies developing the vaccine, and I live with doctors on the wards dealing with people in ICU.
Fuck the TV, fuck the News, it’s all fear-mongering for profit. But the coronavirus is real, it has taken lives, it has been isolated and the vaccine works.
Nobody here is being forced to take the vaccine. The U.K. are in debate about vaccine passport and largely anti- the idea.
it’s not like insulin in the US, where they’re making you pay extortionate prices for something you need to live. We get it free on the NHS (taxpayer money yada yada) it’s a choice and the company’s profit will develop science further x
Welllll there needs to be some incentive for the job of MD, especially in a pandemic. They’ve promised to give away vaccines at P.O.P throughout the pandemic. Once pandemic is over, Oxford Uni, which helped develop it, will take 6% royalty
I thought the joke was that I’m defending lockdowns and still attending protests x
Slimey *
The mask is a choice :) there were lots of people attending without masks, we all got along dandy x
Yeah it refers to AZ in U.K. which is what I’ve been saying the whole time! I know nothing about Pfizer but it seems like some slimes politics there. The OG post by River was claiming COVID wasn’t real. And yeah, fuck coercing people to get the jab!
@461
Lost you in my notifications for a moment. Here is a summary of what’s happening UK re: big pharma profiting from vaccine. https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/amp.ft.com/content/e359159b-105c-407e-b1be-0c7a1ddb654b
@1198
River trolltolled me but I really liked your twetch. 100% people should be able to make their own decisions, but that means their needs to be dialogue between both sides, people need to be informed, and people need to cite their stats/facts :) xx
1/ Key point to highlight:
- I didn’t go home that weekend to see my family because I attended the protest and they are high risk.
- I’ve already had Covid and been vaccinated so it’s unlikely I’d pass it on nor get it from anyone in the crowd
@6345 River trolltolled me because she doesn’t want to hear people who have a different opinion.
I 100% agree that people in power are benefitting from polarising people and inciting fear. Can we clarify, do you not believe in the vaccine at all?
With fear of being told I have ‘the wrong tone’ for asking you to cite that, please may you cite that. I haven’t come across it & I will read through.
I agree, nobody should shove a choice down your throat, nor inject you against your will. I’m anti vaccine passport for this reason. It’s a tricky line to draw. But there needs to be discussion, you can’t just put your fingers in your ears and go la,la,la
This was protesting a bill that was trying to be pushed by our HO sec Priti Patel. My point being, I’m arguing the vaccines are necessary, and that lockdowns do work, having critically looked at the science. I’m not a blind believer.
2/
- we were having our rights stripped from us. The U.K. government was trying to pass a Bill taking away the right to protest. We HAD to protest.
There*
This is such a coincidence! Me and my best friend taking part in protests this month x
So having read, that was Pfizer, a U.S based company. As stated before, I don’t follow what’s happening in U.S. That doesn’t mean the vaccine isn’t necessary, it doesn’t mean lockdowns don’t work. AZ is being sold AT THE PRICE OF PRODUCTION.
Please may you cite that
I mean, let’s see how it plays out, but I don’t think that’s the case at all. Are you from U.S.?
I’m not, I was just entering a discussion about it, I’m worried there’s a lot of misinformation being spread. ‘Big pharma’ in the U.K. (idk what’s happening in the US) aren’t benefitting from this.
I’m worried things like this become an echo chamber and polarise people more. The AZ vaccine will have been worked on by thousands of people, not to mention Pfizer and others. You can’t convince me that it’s all one big scam when so many contributed
What are the ‘sides’ in your view?
Covid isn’t the cause of that division. It’s social media, class systems and misinformation. Also US politicians are even more crap than ours, and that’s saying something. Boris Johnson is a clown.
Which counties? What mob? And, most importantly, why?
I’m happy in London lol, unlikely to get harmed or killed here.
Also I’ve literally mentioned nothing about guns at all lol
