Here’s an ink underdrawing of a painting I’m working on

A painting I started in January of last year based on a sculpture of Christ by Bernini. Marking the historic year 2020 in Roman numerals MMXX. Like so many things in 2020 work on it was interrupted leaving the painting in a ghostlike state.

I tried numerous times to finish the painting but couldn’t seem to bring myself to move past this ghostlike quality.

It was a sign to stop. The painting is finished. And I am happy to know it’s in the hands of two of the most supportive friends I know
