Hypothesis: The massive build-out of AI data centers is creating a new global infrastructure of electricity, cooling, and computing capacity. If AI becomes less profitable or some of that capacity remains underused, these sites could be relatively easily converted into Bitcoin mining facilities by replacing GPUs with SHA-256 ASIC miners. Over time, the same infrastructure could therefore shift between producing intelligence and securing a global digital monetary network, depending on which use is more economically valuable.
