Indeed. I’ve never gone into an aya work while being strict on the dieta. I imagine it changes the experience. Being in the communal trio of a congregation is an amazing way to commune with the spirit of the vine. Wow.

Maybe similar in that it was started by a guy who had a vision… but he also knew a guy who showed him how to use the plants to trip out and talk with god.

I encountered it in the context of the Santo Daime Church which was a really fascinating mix. Really enjoyed the collaborative tripping as opposed to a guided “shaman”… had some pretty wild and connected experiences over the course of a year. I would highly recommend it. Mic less expensive than the Shaman Tourism angle.
