I wonder if AI algorithms won't manage upvote systems in the future. The AI will figure out if an upvoter has your interests and determine what weight should be applied to upvotes.
In an upvote system, you could user accounts set to ignore the likes of "anonymous cowards" that have reputation criteria. Reputation is human proof of work.
I'm anonymous on here .. kinda .. but I'll bet your extended circle of friends will have no problem whitelisting me such that my upvotes carry weight..or even perhaps more weight than other anonymous people.
When users are tokenized with a reputation record, it is sufficiently sybil proof. If you suck at upvoting good content, then of course it will not be profitable.
Recap: I suggested an upvote system that pays commissions. That has a better chance of getting someone to pay an upvote paywall because they may find it easy to stay make their money back. I also suggested making an Upvote token. People like tokens.
Boost might as well be a token that the miners redeem. Neat. Except Boost miners are extraneous and both content creators and the business marketing the product need the money.
BoostPoW is not creating an upvote system that works at scale. At best it's creating a fire alarm. You can think of a boost as a pay wall to upvoting something. Does it look attractive now? Do you think that scales?
is the tech behind BoostPoW the key to imbedding stable coin blockchain on Bitcoin's blockchain? That is a potential use case for a second set of miners.
I think you're missing the point..Bitcoin already has miners that consume transaction fees. It doesn't need a new kind of miners to provide what will soon be clear to all is not better results.
Twetch is not dead..but I do think they might need to start taking some of my ideas more seriously because BoostPoW for an upvote system is dead end.
In theory, a token for gold would be like having money completely backed by gold. This would be a good thing in times when nothing else is retaining its value. Basically it would be a stable coin if you can transfer the terms of redemption.
Legally that is not true. Nor is it in practice. If a custodian doesn't redeem tokens, they lose rep and they probably go to jail. Especially true if there is a long record of audits of the physical gold. Then you have a good case to get them on theft.
Just use an old phone and Simply Cash. They have a Howto. Dedicated hardware is silly.
Hardware wallets are a dumb idea. Anyone who would buy a dedicated hardware wallet obviously has not had enough electronic devices fail on them to lose that false sense of security.
If USDC is truly backed, it's possible that it could suck up all the dollars in the world. Tokenizing properly actually removes a bit of fungibility with the positive benefit that tokenized dollars cannot be easily debased. They will be moving to BSV.
When we tokenize the world, BSV becomes the reserve token for all those tokens. That's better than being a reserve currency because BSV can't be easily debased. The world will then discover what it means to have truly good money.
I could be wrong about USDC eventually coming to BSV. And that would be fine. It wouldn't be too hard to tokenize dollars as long the tokens are properly backed by dollars. Maybe Bitcoin Association could be keepers of the stack of USD.
Get rid of those train wrecks. You're going to get rekt if you don't.
At some point USDC will likely grow too big for ETH. If they don't move to the only thing that will be able to handle it, they're bad business people and deserve to fail.
If it's that or failure, they might change their mind. Who would have ever thought that Binance would mine BSV?
What I want is tokenized Gold on BSV. Somebody talk to Peter Schiff so he'll be custodian of our stack of gold. I'm craving to buy a stack of tokens. I'm not so keen to have a big stack of USDC with all the Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
The way to mass adoption is to tokenize the world and develop a Metanet that is token-centric.
Price stability of BSV will be accomplished by making speculative trades a statistically irrelevant portion of all BSV transactions.
If you implemented likes as a token, it wouldn't mean you couldn't have the old fashion likes too. It's just something to implement to get people not thinking about the price of BSV. Issuer can sell tokens w a markup. Transaction fees still apply.
I think that governments would love real stable coins on blockchain. Because if it's done right, the currency has to be stacked and available for redemption. Fractional reserve is a no-no. This is the proper way to digitize fiat.
If Twetch implements likes as tokens, then the receiver has the choice to redeem them for big money 🤣 or give them to someone else for posting good content.
An odd side affect of implementing Twetch likes as tokens is that BSV would have its first stable coin🤣.
Oh dear lord we're going to have a lot of fun with tokens on the Metanet.
