I already know which of my peers will send me valuable information. No upvote system necessary. They've done the necessary PoW with their record of providing valuable information. The need for an upvote system is for dealing w strangers' content.

When you run out of time processing false positives, you lose that attitude.
I'm telling you that people are not qualified to Boost their own content. You've got your head up your ass. That's fine..lead people and businesses over a cliff. I have warned people sufficiently.
Segwit is also a "solution" that solves nothing. It's a tax on businesses that have to expend energy to implement it. BoostPoW is like this also for businesses that implement it. For lousy upvote results, they'll lose a lot of potential revenue.
It makes more sense for you to pay me then use BoostPoW because the odds are you are going to waste my time, despite your good intentions to legitimately Boost, that I might as well get paid for my time.
Someone Boosts something there's still probably a 70% chance it isn't worth my time..that they provided a false costly signal. If they pay me, I don't feel like I lost time out of my life for nothing.
BoostPoW is fundamentally flawed. People costly signal often. And they are often wrong with their judgement to do so. Profitable companies churn out crap w costly signaling. That's why we develop "people" networks to filter content successfully.
I'm not worried. I'm just warning people because it's the right thing to do. People are free agents.
No..it's an elegant theory and inexperienced scientists often fall in love with their theories. Unfortunately, elegant wrong theories are contagious.
You're making me sad. Why don't you study the marketing of record labels so you will understand how your system will be exploited? They cost in the failures quite profitably. Nothing in BoostPoW prevents that.
If you want to thwart scoundrels, you must study them.
Here's what I think is going to happen. Bitcoin(SV) is going to scale. The Metanet infrastructure will standardize and books will be written. Then the professional app developers are going to move in and make all the amateur shit go away. Simple as that.
As long as BSV keeps scaling, I don't really care what amateur crap people do. I don't care if CSW is Satoshi. I don't care about any of the politics at all. Suck Daniel all you want. Elegant theories are often wrong..sorry.
People are mad because I'm criticizing BoostPoW. Jump off that cliff if you want. Because it is economically parasitic, ironically it will make your app less fit.
Eliminate all Bitcoin miners and Bitcoin comes to a halt. Eliminate all BoostPoW miners and you eliminate dead weight BB stackers.
BoostPoW is actually economically parasitic to a project. The funds could be paid to content creators or app developers. Despite the doctrine, BoostPoW Miners do not actually provide a vital service..unless you're a "believer".
I laugh whenever I hear this. What are Boosts but variable cost likes that you can pay for yourself? Isn't this something you rejected because it was pay-to-play? Because it's Daniel Krawisz pushing misapplied costly signaling theory, you forget.
I know this church is true. I know that Boost is a valid costly signal and that Daniel Krawisz is a prophet of profit.
The biggest problem with BoostPoW is that it infects other BSV projects. It is BSV's Segwit. Good thing nChain is leading BSV or I'd be seriously concerned for the future of BSV.
In the real world, costly signals are noise. We actually buy what our friends buy. It's pretty much that simple.
@24 You asked me, "Why win an argument?" Because arguments make you rethink your premises. That is something you need to do.
Kevin Pham warned about BSV circle jerks. BoostPoW comes to mind..infecting BSV with pseudoscience.
In nature, with dumb animals, costly signaling theory works on every level..including thinking of it as marketing. With humans, that regularly deceive, costly signaling theory fails in an epic manner. It fails because of the high rate of false positives.
The fundamental problem with BoostPoW is people are buying the pseudoscience of applying evolutionary costly signaling to marketing contexts. The only way Boost is a good costly signal is if people pretend it is.
Higher intelligence makes false costly signaling common. The loser goes on a 1000 costly dates before some poor gullible person is fooled. Intelligence creates an abundance of false costly signals. Dumb animals do not engage in false costly signals.
I'm not sure how someone can live in this world and think that costly signaling theory holds water. Intelligence has introduced an element of deception. Today, costly signals are doubted. Tricks that worked, based on costly signaling, do not work now.@24
@24 I give you hell, but I would weight your upvotes high. Most of all I wish you success and hope you do not create monsters.
Note to self: Any successful upvote system must not be anonymous. Any really successful upvote system must give higher weight to known good aggregators and less to bad ones as per tastes of individuals.
@24 is voted most likely to create Chucky while trying to create Teddy Ruxpin.
They would not be meaningless if they are upvotes by people you respect and upvotes by known spammers are discarded. No offense, but your system doesn't change anything. Those numbers of false positives are with BigMarketing boosting profitably.
