Boost is precisely the same as variable payments for likes. Having miners do a pony show in the background doesn't really change that. The critical difference is you're paying miners for an unnecessary show instead of paying content creators. Thumbs down.

@24 @4 I'm a believer in competition and empirical evidence. Let Twetch implement variable payment Likes and Paychain. And also implement Boost. And a way for investors to pre-pay for both Boost and variable likes. Let the best system win!
If you want to attack BTC, the best thing you can do is to honestly mine it and sell it immediately at market price..thereby creating a constant pressure downward on price.
If it's implemented on Twetch, I probably won't be interested in Twetch anymore for all the noise created by people who have more money than they ought to have.
Boost is like burning money. It's a costly signal, but a supremely common one that is offensive. If it plays out like real life, 9 of 10 of those signals will be false. Boost is embarrassing..segwit level embarrassing.
Boosting is glorified charity to miners and shotgun costly targeting at best..by someone with bad aim.
I have a high level of confidence that a system that pays content creators directly will be what works best for boosting or liking.
@4 Walled gardens could be implemented as instances of Twetch using subdomains such as entity554.twetch.app . Maybe every user could have the option to buy their own instance.
faucet/wallet. Depending on whether you wanted to open up the funding to the public or for just yourself for investments or whatever.
Patreon is weak. I'm really thinking of 1. faucet that pushes funds based on conditions (via API) Think conditional sponsorship/payments of rewards/prizes. 2.sponsor marketing of channels/content (Paychain). 3.Periodically pay to a paymail(subscriptions).
I'm serious. If someone will commit to some top notch honest BSV reporting for Twetch. I'll join a Patreon paying $1.00 per month to start. Paying in BSV would be better .. so I can help someone with their Patreon project. run run run!
Sounds mean, but Twetch needs "walled" communities and gift cards that let people use Twetch without thinking about BSV or getting our "crypto" stink on them. Maybe all BSV apps do.
Investment opportunities based on recognizing good content and successfully marketing that content are an answer to onboarding new people to BSV. Bring on investors, marketers, and content creators. It is a complete solution: Bi-directional money flow.
Let's see..if I could use a recurring payment service, I'd start looking for a conditional faucet system next. Then apps could create an API to make certain condition checkable so that funds could go certain places under certain conditions.
Auto-payments based on block height should be fine. Every 1000 blocks is close to a week. Paid weekly is better than paid monthly.
How long until automatic monthly payments for Moneybutton? Then we can have channel subscriptions on Twetch to encourage good content.
Don't be afraid to have your ideas stolen, especially regarding BSV. If someone can implement your ideas better than you, they deserve it. It's still a win if they implement it on BSV and you are vested.
Should we make a Patreon based on Bitcoin? Is that possible?
Who on Twetch has good enough content, including BSV news, that they are worthy of a Patreon subscriber?
Done.
Thanks to the person who told me my Paychain paper sucks I have endeavored to make it much better. It might actually not suck now.
Once someone implements Paychain, it will be a competition to see who can make the most money and use the best payment profile. That is so exciting!
Imagine being able to make money just by knowing how to like or boost the right content. That can happen with Paychain.
My intuition says that there probably is one optimal payment profile. As far as making the most money based on great content, seems unlikely people will tie for the leading position for very long.
@4 Twetch is almost ready for the big leagues. It's already very aesthetically pleasing and user friendly. Just a little more infrastructure to go: It needs Paychain. It needs blocking and muting.
Some fucker told me my paper sucks. Wow.
I enabled comments on the Paychain paper in hopes people would roast it.

he's trying to prevent a pump and dump obviously.
For all time, let's resolve the "Costly Signal" debate. All costly signals are marketing and include implicit or explicit claims. They should provide evidence that the claims are true. If they don't do that successfully, they suck.
Done!
I will implement Paychain for something. I just haven't figured out what yet. Maybe a BSV market of some sort? I hoped to help content creators get paid, not sell goods.
