Kind've illogical otherwise, but I agree with your general assessment. Governments will always try to get their mitts on things which they rightfully have less than zero right to get, as I pointed out with gold investments since 1971. They double-fucked everyone.

My point is just that for the average person, it's a bit preposterous to chage people capital gains taxes if they bought bitcoin for usage, but don't use it for a decade or so, if paying for goods and services with the bitcoin. Obviously, if the person sells the bitcoin for dollars and then buys something, capital gains are owed. But here's another example to frame what I mean, specifically.

March 2020, you realize home heating oil is an insane bargain compared to the history of oil prices your entire life. So you not only buy a batch of heating oil, but you furthermore buy 3 more tanks to put in the ground to store heating oil for the next 3 winters. You buy at let's say $10 per barrel.

2 years later, the $10 heating oil is sitting in your tank, and you burn it for heat, but heating oil price is now $100 per barrel. The government is going to ask you to pay capital gains on $90 of profits you made by investing in heating oil at the bottom??

I agree with you, they will TRY to do this, I'm sure of it, particularly with no revolution or civil war between here and then. However, it's just as senseless to charge someone taxes of $900 because they bought someting for 1 BSV, that they bought for $100, because you bought a $1,000 wool suit at the store, paying 1 BSV.

You walk into store, the guy says, this suit you want is 1 BSV. 1 BSV trades for $1,000. You give him 1 BSV that you bought in 2023 for $100. You get the suit, of course, and then you report your capital gain to the government and pay the government $450 because you bought a suit with the commodity you bought 10 years ago?

This is also why bitcoin should've never been marketed as "electronic cash". It should have been marketed as commoditized computation. You buy bitcoin, that's the end of it. Everyone in the world would assume you bought it because you wanted computation, not a forex trade. The fact that CompuBits (commoditized computation) you "bartered" to buy $1,000 worth of video game time at Gamestop in 2033, no government would be up your ass to pay capital gains on a forex trade, bc you simply bought computation early and it happened to go up in price.

You buy a painting for $1,000. 10 years later it's worth $1mm. You donate the painting to an art gallery which then gives you $1mm worth of special priviledges at their art studios, perhaps including portraits done by Bansky of your likeness which might then immediately be worth $5mm if you sold them a year later. it can get complicated.

Taxes are mostly voluntary and based on prior art. But something like this, where you buy BSV and then buy something with the BSV that's traditionally a more expensive service you wouldn't have afforded 10 years ago at the dollar price of BSV, that's not really going to be in tax practises yet. Maybe it is, I dunno.

but again, if it is, it's illogical.

Another way: you buy $1,000 worth of dollars, and next year a President decides to make the USDollar deflationary. In 10 years the $1,000 of 2023 money becomes equivalent to $100,000 in 2023 purchasing power. You owe nothing, you simply held dollars.

What if you buy things with the appreciated (vs the dollar) BSV in 10 years that previously didn't have a market in 2023, such as game passes or virtual experiences. How can you value the capital gain? ESTIMATE what the new produce WOULD have cost in 2023 had it existed?

We're in the taxation twighlight zone here.

What's interesting here, if you hold bitcoin long enough such that doctors take it in the future as payment, not only might you have made a lot of money, you'll be exchanging it for the exact same price you paid for it— bitcoin— thus no taxes.

In other words, we don't know what doctors charge people in bitcoin, when bitcoin is $23. But we know what they charge in bitcoin, when bitcoin is $23,000, the price is in bitcoin.

The government/IRS/auditors may try to convince you that you owe taxes using some doctor-fee logic, but I don't think it would hold up in court. barter is barter. If I buy 10,000 pens with aged horse poop, I don't think the tax man is going to evaluate the prices of aged horse poop when the horse plopped it on the ground vs when you "sold it" for bartered pens. That's ridiculous.

This is not tax advice, but simply a thought progression of what the world looks like in 15 years if you simply hold all your bitcoin and spend it as vendors accept it as payment as time progresses. Absolutely SILLY to pay taxes when buying things with bitcoin.

The government screwed this up with gold, since 1933 when it made gold ownership illegal. No one should have to pay taxes for owning gold, even if selling back to dollars. Now THIS you have to pay taxes, and good luck arguing 50+ years of tax history. However, this is proof of bad and even evil government. They broke their contract with the people regarding the currency, and then doubled-down on stupid by actually charging people taxes simply for owning a substance that doesn't depreciate with the printed dollar. In this respect, the government has learned how to sneak a significant tax on the people for all assets (not just held-cash):

If you hold cash, you're diluted about 9% per annum since 1971 Nixed dollar.

If you hold assets, they tend to go up in price vs a printed debased dollar, so you're taxed on ALL the goods you own, based on your capital gains.

Taxation without Representation 2.

Our belief:

BitForex is basically a private exchange amongst cryptoCabal member exchanges to provide a neutral place to get liquidity to Binance.

today's Tron/btc volume
$7.2mm BitForex
$3.7mm Binance
$1.0mm KuCoin
$0.9mm BigONE
$0.7mm Huobi (Justin Sun)
$0.6mm OKX

Add up all below BitForex and you get $6.9mm.
What if all the exchanges were trading TRON amongst each other on BitForex? Matches.

BitForex has almost no history, is run out of the Seychelles, has only two humans associated with it, both very very young asian boys who don't say much and don't give interviews about their origin story.

BitForex likes to appear at conferences with Binance (CZ) and Huobi (Justin Sun), such as Russia's Blockchain Life in 2019 where BitForex was the sponsor. Let's say BitForex's financiers were CZ and JSun, then wouldn't it make sense for BitForex to sponsor an event in which CZ and JSun are touted?

BitForex claims it's a top 10 cryptocurrency exchange worldwide, but how and where did it come from? Maybe it really has 3mm users, retail, which feed into their honeypot, but would you be surprised if "Market Makers" were the dominant source of volume for the Tron/btc trading pair, and the "three million" users were the vast minority of the trades?

Pictured below is a shitcoin ICO promoted by BitForex in May 2019. Looks like a classic bait and rug.

"Crypto Capital" out of Beijing China is the only known backer. Who could that be? Well, no need to pin it down because TRON (JUstin Sun) is the main backer of BitForex. The only other backer is listed as QTUM, which may be the $300mm POS shitcoin.

Coinstats.app lists a risk factor (appropriately labelled "Cons") as "Lack of transparency"— ya think?

Fees are conspicuously low, as in 10 bps compared to 100-150 bps at Coinbase which is a money-losing exchange in the US. Sorry, but it's just no believable that BitForex's main business is earning money from trading fees.

Our first question would be: Who are the "market makers" on BitForex and how can we KYC them? The expected answer, we think, would be that the market makers are related to Mr Justin Sun, and suspicious backers in China, but what do we know?

The other scam, of course, is BitForex is going to issue their own token and then "back it" by buying back the token with 80% of it's trading fees! So it's yet another pump and dump. Any possible money they could be making is pumped into a shitcoin based on their own business, a shitcoin noboby needs. Despite "buybacks", the coin has gone from about $0.04 at start to $0.0007 today, the definition of a shitcoin, but still with a $4 million dollar market cap, and supposedly 6mm customers. Volume for BitForex is about $100k in our estimate, all of which is traded on BitForex itself. YoBit offers it, but zero volume (because nobody wants shitcoins with no income stream attached).

KYC on BitForex? Nope. Email address only.

In our estimation, BitForex is total bullshit, and only exists to maybe extract some money out of the pockets of some Asian suburban Dads, as well as provide a conduit for trades in things like TRON and other major cryptocurrencies like btc, eth, sol, ripple, avax, doge and dot to end up as liquidity on Binance. BitForex is likely not the ONLY exchange like this, consider:
OKX
Poloniex (Justin Sun)
Huobi (Justi Sun)
DigiFinex (another Seychelles exchange with non-existent history of founding, a couple of asian founders)

One giveaway for BS exchanges is they list no founders on Crunchbase but tell you about the impressive-sounding companies the founders came from (TenCent, Baidu, etc….). That's all you get, just an unverified resume of solid-sounding companies that the founders may have dealt with once, or were hired by the capital providers to be the face of the exchange.

It's all smoke and mirrors in our opinion.

How you can tell which exchanges and financial partners to avoid:

Just look for the tell-tale "US customers not allowed" sign.
Why?
If not able to register in the US, it means the exchange doesn't have to follow any reasonable rules, such as:
NOT raping customers with 100x leverage
No "Japanese-walled" market maker partners (think Alameda Research to FTX relationship)
No Co-mingled assets (customer's with exchange's)
No illegal unregistered securities

In other words, you look for lingo like this which SEEMS like they're being open and "cool", but in reality this is a thinly vieled invitation to use VPN masking to open up an account no matter WHICH country you live, and that's exactly what happens.

Cuban uses the proper Warren Buffetted-popularlized expression, but fails to be self-aware enough to realize $ETH has been dropping the most thanks to it's close ties with "DeFi". As Bugs Bunny would say "What a Marooon"

Not really "making $WAVES " eh?

Part of "crypto winter" is just waiting for all the cucks stuck in "DeFi" long term ("high interest") contracts to get released from lending prison.

PolkaDot [DOT] reached almost a $1 trillion dollar market cap last year. This is because inflation is set to 10% and we used Messari's 2050 market cap. If we'd gone further, PolkaDot was priced at over $100 trillion using end-of-century (2099) inflation.

Commencing our BLAST FROM THE PAST series:

Only about CryptoCraps which were at 1 time taken VERY seriously.

BSV mcap = $1.1 bn (for comparison)

Damages from btc stealing the copyrighted name "bitcoin" plus the database are almost unmeasurably giant. BitCoin is down >98% from its price in Summer 2017 before SEGWIT. That alone is worth in the hundreds of billions of damage. But then the ecosystem...

People are still talking about "Stacks", the goofy #btc thingy;
so cheer up!
at LEAST #BSV trades north of that one.

We still think it's the most important question in BitCoin;
all #BSV valuation roads lead back to the definition of money.
It is impossible to put a price on BitCoin w/o it
