volatility === % moves in price, not the value of coins moved. in terms of using any coin as a base unit of account, not just BSV.

I would be more interested in relative vol than token price as that's what matters as a consumer.

Despite the fact that BSV has a real economy unlike many other chains, ETH folks actually price their products in ETH exclusively.

Beeple's and most other NFTs are launched as Ethereum tokens.

ETH has a much more mature ecosystem for creating, buying, and selling NFTs than BSV. It will take a while to reach that level of maturity on BSV.

But BSV has a lot of advantages for NFTs!

My vote is no. Hat was a very successful proof of concept but I don't think there's enough speculative froth in BSV for an NFT ecosystem to absorb.

Yeah, the key differentiator is that OP_PUSHDATA can terminate in an OP_CHECKSIG, making the UTXOs spendable and (theoretically) unprunable:

This is not an unlikely outcome and has plenty of historical precedent.

I don't think utility-providing coins will go to 0 any more than silver went to 0 after it was demonetized.

But it would be a very grueling road.

This is exactly how the British established a global gold standard in the 1850s. It also forced the hand of the only bimetallic hold-out, the United States, and demonetized silver.
