Decent, castr.fm API is written in Flask and it's still one of my go-to frameworks for that use-case.

For sure. An old Android phone with SimplyCash is another cold/lukewarm storage solution for the non-technical.
AppImage support just makes long-term storage so much easier in lieu of HW wallets, which SV also lacks.
I'm not sure if ElectrumSV is compatible with ARM chipsets but their Linux release basically requires a separate Python venv and basic pip skills to maintain.
You'll get practice with it, too, because ElectrumSV breaks backwards compatibility regularly.
I would happily pay for a good fork of Electrum, or one that funds the devs with an extra output on all my TXs.
Right now we have a problem in Bitcoin with a lack of coordination I think. We need to all focus on what we need the most right now instead of going off in lots of different directions that don't work together.
