The vaccine isn’t going to stop people from dying.
80% of covid deaths are ‘end of life’ deaths.
In other words these would have occurred within a year regardless of covid.

This is in all honesty. That means if your mom or dad or grandma or grandpa would have died frok it you would have said "yeah but they were going to die anyway"? Thats a serious question im trying to see if that makes sense to me

I say this not to be cold.
It comes from data.
To the extent that the covid response has broken from reality, equally the solution must also break from reality.
That's the thing, like, how is there no debate at all except for what our emotional response to end of life deaths should be? The one thing that has nothing in particular to do with COVID.
Most people support optional flu shots for the elderly.
Because we have antibodies against the flu so it really doesnt attack us as hard as it would if we had no antibodies. Covid is new not as deadly as the spanish flu but its something that is new.
In 2 months when there is abundant vaccine available for vulnerable people, do you say masks in the trash or are we suppose to worry that the vaccine might not work for 10% and mask forever ?
There are many differences between COVID and the flu. As for the OP's comments, I guess he is literally correct in the sense that everyone dies one day. Also, 20% of COVID deaths might amount to "a lot", I dunno.
I think if we had a lock down we should have been paid to do so. But i feel everyone should be wearing a mask when they cannot social distance. Is that over kill?
