To be fair many artists also try to manipulate humans in a positive way... lots of games now too. Hard to say whats really happening... maybe we are just becoming very aware of all of this.
And I think you're right, many of us are becoming more & more aware.
but why any manipulation needed at all? I like a feel good movie or thought provoking film as much as the next, tho admittedly less & less these days. Film is an art form, but it's been largely taken over.
Maybe they have good intentions who knows? They think its best to try and prepare people for their imagined future? Some try to teach, inspire... maybe we will stop consuming these art forms?
